Has the king declared high-speed Internet to be a “human right” yet?

Somehow, some way this is about money. Whether it is in newly defined “privilege” taxes or in sales and authorizations for rate/category applications and licenses.
It is about privilege and money. Nothing else.

“Technology doesn’t stand still.”
Except outside of town in the rural area...where they are still lucky to have a telephone...a POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service).

I checked my Charter connection several times and it was running 20 mb/s
I wonder who benefits from this? I would like some FReeper to check the speed of a Comcast connection. Comcast owns NBC and id the propaganda purveyor for the DNC
Can the ISP increase the speed by turning up the gain?

Now we will be accused of “geek privilege” if our internet connection is too fast.

Comcast will really jack your bill up for higher speeds. And it is not going to install FIOS as long as it can get away with 1990’s technology . Wherei am at, I have only the Comcast option as the other providers have not come into the area with alternatives. Conversely, in the city where I moved from, Comcast was virtually forced out of business when Verison brought FIOS into the city. Just buried Comcast with screaming speeds, superior quality video.

Cox Cable just doubled their speed a few months ago. My mid-level connection jumped from about 15-18 Mbps to supposed 50 Mbps. It varies between 35 and this number from this morning [when they are not doing maintenance and messing with the connections]:
