A woman known as North Carolina's 'Bear Lady' may have been killed by a bear.
The remains of Kay Grayson, 67, were found in a well-known bear path just 100 yards from her isolated home in Tyrrell County on Monday.
Authorities could only find bones, hair and ripped clothing, which had likely been there for two weeks after she was reported missing.

Authorities could only find bones, hair and ripped clothing In other words, she's barely there? It's a bad idea to feed bears but a worse idea to stop...

Just this week, one of my friends told me her nephew killed a black bear on their place over west of Wilmington (NC, not DE). The bear weighed nearly 500 lbs.

killed by the animals she was famous for feeding Isn't it nice that, in death, she was able to continue doing something she loved to do in life?

I back up to a large nature reserve. We have mountain lion, eagles, bear, coyote and other predators in the area. I ended up with a little dog and have to take him out when he has to go, otherwise something will eat him. The only thing that makes me nervous? The coyotes - they run in packs. Singly they dont bother me either, I just watch where I’m going and make noise. The grandkids dont play outside alone either, particularly after dark. Wouldnt trade where I live for anything, but I dont try to feed the critters. There are more than enough rabbits running around for that.

Lower 48 greenies employed in Montana F&G. I was talking to a Biologist from Montana F&G and he was telling me that the wolves are so protected by the greenie cliché at F&G there it's unreal.
In Alaska, Balance of nature concepts are more realistic and no cops within 200 miles of my house. Much more freedom to do what's right.

Gators can climb a chain link fence?????? oh my gosh.
I know they can run fast, much faster than I can, but for a short period of time.
I grew up swimming with gators in the lake, but no more!!

Love watching Alaska The Last Frontier. I'm amazed how self sufficient those families are.
Their work ethic is amazing.
