Matthew 25 includes a call for more entitlement spending and provides biblical justification for Obamacare, or so says Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
Promoting Obamacare in South Dakota, Montana and several national interviews last week, Kasich touted the Bible chapters depiction of judgment based on individual charity as a sweeping endorsement of government programs for the poor.
Kasich, a Republican, campaigned against Obamacare in 2010, saying the laws Medicaid expansion would stick states with large and unsustainable costs. He unilaterally implemented the Obamacare Medicaid expansion in 2013.
The Obamacare expansion puts able-bodied, working-age adults with no dependent children on Medicaid at a cost of billions per year in new federal spending. By Kasichs description, Matthew 25 amounts to a divine endorsement of the policy.
Now, if you ever read Matthew 25, I think, I wanna feed the hungry and clothe the naked,' Kasich said when asked about Obamacare at a Jan. 20 event in Pierre, South Dakota.
Now, I dont know whether you ever read Matthew 25, but I commend it to you, the end of it, about do you feed the homeless and do you clothe the poor, Kasich told Montana legislators when asked about Obamacare at a Helena press conference the next day.
Kasich cited Matthew 25 when defending his Obamacare expansion during a Fox News interview aired Jan. 22, during a Jan. 22 Hugh Hewitt interview and during an NPR interview aired Friday.

Ohio Ping
Gov. John Kasich Ohios Own Obama?
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3111567/posts
Quote:
Ohios legislature lobbied by grassroots groups the press acknowledges only to sneer at stripped Medicaid expansion from the state budget and even passed language explicitly forbidding it. Kasich responded by line-item vetoing the Medicaid expansion ban, and then unilaterally expanding Medicaid when several more months of emotional blackmail didnt work.
The legislature wouldnt grow government the way Kasich wanted, so Kasich took a page from Obamas playbook and pretended the huge policy decision was an executive matter.

Taxation is not Charity. Government is not society. Simple as that.
Not only is it not Biblical, it represents the shirking of an individual, biblically directed duty. What Kasich is advocating is for people to abandon their God directed opportunity for blessing, ignore the direction of Christ, and “let government do it”...for which there is no blessing for anyone.
This advice is worse than misguided, it is evil.
I used to hold Kasich in high regard. Not any more. He is a charlatan Christian, claiming to follow the Bible but using it falsely to promote his agenda - apparently he has been possessed by demons and is directed by Satan...or he thinks his current stance is politically expedient (but I repeat myself, don’t I?)
What else would you expect from a Yankee Republican?
“individual charity as a sweeping endorsement of government programs”
It’s INDIVIDUAL Charity, morons. Not government mugging.
Even if it wasn’t a mugging, there is no reward in heaven for a government using the money. Certainly you will get no reward for letting someone mug you and their passing it off to someone else.
Is this a MD ping? If so, why? (Yes, I only scanned.)
Follow the money to find the true source of his conversion.
Whenever liberals try to tell me that Jesus is a liberal, or they cherry pick Scripture that they believe somehow affirms their socialist agenda, I ask them, “if that reference can be acknowledged as truth, what about John 14:6, 2 Thessalonians 3:10, Acts 4:12, and 1 Corinthians 6:9? Also, it is interesting that so many of these liberals who profess so much concern for the poor give so little to help them from their own pockets. There are probably still a few homeless guys out there wearing Bill Clinton’s old underwear.
Um, no. Just an opponent of growing the welfare state by 50% every decade, regardless of whether it’s done under the rubric of progressivism or compassionate conservatism.
That’s actually a good thing.
In the near future, retainer-based primary care may be the only way to get a medical opinion unclouded by cost considerations.
>>There are probably still a few homeless guys out there wearing Bill Clintons old underwear.
They probably have some WJC mojo in them still. Even a homeless guy needs to get lucky.
Ohio Governor Kasich is a blithering idiot RINO who needs to be
voted out and sent to a reeducation camp where he will be told very
clearly what the Bible says about charity.
There is NOTHING in the Bible about stealing from the productive
to smear largesse all over those who refuse to be productive.
Liberal icon Robin Hood was a criminal and a thief.
I will never vote for Kasich again, and I hope that if he is reelected,
we can move out of this stupid state asap.
Kasich... water skis... shark...
PING!
My bad. However, Kasich might as well resign and run for governor in Maryland now.
Might he be the “brand name” RINO who ca divert votes from Jebbie?
DANG!
Robin Hood actually stole from his government and gave the money back to those whose money it actually was, as far as I know.
What does the Koran Say ?
Kasich has no understanding of the Bible. Charity is a very good thing, and I give more to charity than Kasich does, but Obamacare is nothing like charity. Charity is generosity with your own money, while Obamacare is generosity with other people’s money. There is a difference, even though liberals are incapable of understanding that difference.
