Seen the light? Ohio Gov. Kasich says Bible supports Obamacare

Matthew 25 includes a call for more entitlement spending and provides biblical justification for Obamacare, or so says Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

Promoting Obamacare in South Dakota, Montana and several national interviews last week, Kasich touted the Bible chapter’s depiction of judgment based on individual charity as a sweeping endorsement of government programs for the poor.

Kasich, a Republican, campaigned against Obamacare in 2010, saying the law’s Medicaid expansion would “stick states with large and unsustainable costs.” He unilaterally implemented the Obamacare Medicaid expansion in 2013.

The Obamacare expansion puts able-bodied, working-age adults with no dependent children on Medicaid at a cost of billions per year in new federal spending. By Kasich’s description, Matthew 25 amounts to a divine endorsement of the policy.

“Now, if you ever read Matthew 25, I think, ‘I wanna feed the hungry and clothe the naked,'” Kasich said when asked about Obamacare at a Jan. 20 event in Pierre, South Dakota.

“Now, I don’t know whether you ever read Matthew 25, but I commend it to you, the end of it, about do you feed the homeless and do you clothe the poor,” Kasich told Montana legislators when asked about Obamacare at a Helena press conference the next day.

Kasich cited Matthew 25 when defending his Obamacare expansion during a Fox News interview aired Jan. 22, during a Jan. 22 Hugh Hewitt interview and during an NPR interview aired Friday.

I am a Bible-believing Christian, but I was under the impression that “the Constitution imposes a separation of church and state.” (which it doesn’t, of course) In for a penny, in for a pound, I say. If you want to base government on Christian faith, let’s go! I don’t think that is what many want, however.

Beware of those who pray loudly on street corners.

As long as we’re doing Bible verses for public policy, how about this one:

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you: that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

2 Thessalonians 3:10

"You know the commandments, "DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER.'"

Agents of PPACA and PPACA itself has broken 3 of those commandments that Jesus in Luke 18:20 reaffirmed.

Kasich is basically a heretic who promotes lies, theft, and murder.

Nowhere, no how does the Bible support taking from some to give to others. Coveting other people’s stuff is a no-no. There is not one-NOT ONE-Republican who opposes taking from people to give to others. NOT ONE. Once you open that door just a little bit you open the door for Obama and Warren and others of their ilk.
They all support welfare for the “needy” (I heard Limbaugh support this. The only difference is that Liberals are more compassionate and “generous:. “Conservatives” are stingier. Democrats see more needy people than Dems. But don’t worry. They always catch up.

It’s easy to feel charitable and generous with other people’s money, Gov Kasich.

We are $18 trillion in debt. Stealing money from college students, pretending they have a chance at prosperity when they won’t even have health care

Pretending the government can care for our health pretending they care about our health

Pretending this is anything other than data mining at ten thousand per family on its way to total socialism

Hugh Hewitt likes kasich a lot

Always a warning sign. Hewitt is Pollyanna and a nasty version

Where does he find any verse of scripture calling for government to take care of the poor? This duty is given to each Christian, and if each of us helped those in need that we personally know, poverty would be much less burdensome.
God knows that corrupt governments are the least likely to be able to help those in need. Kasich should know it,too.

The Bible says that if you don’t work you should not eat.

So the Bible does not support the welfare state.

Here again we have another liberal who never reads the bible using verses out of context. This is a favored Alinsky tactic used often as of late.

Healthcare is one issue and we don't let people die in the streets.

Mandatory insurance is the real issue. Why can't I pay my doctor the $150 for a checkup instead of $5000 a year for insurance?

The way many are pushing it lately I’m going to guess Obama has added an incentive to get governors to raise their enrollment figures -commissions. It would make a lot of sense because too many people have been shifting their positions about 0’Care lately. Now to get one of them to admit it.

> Of course, if what Kasich says is true, and Obamacare is Bible-based, then it is a CLEAR violation of the left’s precious “separation of Church and State” and is, therefore, an unconstitutional usurpation of our rights under the 1st Amendment.

;-)

References to Church Government.

Are we officially a Christian Nation? Can we now pray in school? Should teachers now be compelled to preach the gospel of Christ to their students?

If not, then the government has no business taking our money and doling it out to others on the pretext that they are doing God's work.
