Former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley has hired a Democratic staffer in Iowa, as he considers a potential 2016 presidential bid.
O'Malley's political action committee hired Jake Oeth as a consultant, beginning in mid-December, the PAC confirmed Tuesday.
Oeth was the political director for Bruce Braley's Senate campaign last year. Politico first reported his hiring.
O'Malley's PAC also said it has brought on Brad Elkins, who will be based in Washington, D.C.
Both have Iowa experience.
Elkins was sent by the O'Malley camp to Iowa last year to work for Jack Hatch's unsuccessful gubernatorial campaign.
O'Malley, who left office after last year, has made no announcements yet about what he'll do in the 2016 campaign cycle. But he was quite active in Iowa last year, making donations and helping to raise money for the party, as well as several candidates, including Hatch, Braley, Rep. Dave Loebsack and state Sen. Rita Hart.
They are doing some organizing and contacting, said Jack Hatch, the 2014 Democratic nominee for governor. I will be meeting with them [this] week. Its all under the radar."
o’malley is an unelectable twit.
not sure it’s a good thing for him. braley lost. in fact, he lost a seat that whackjob tom harkin held for a zillion years.
Careful, that's my EX governor you are talking about. Let me say that again, my EX governor. Ahhhhhhhhhh.
O’Malley? Please. Even the crazies here in Maryland rejected his anointed successor for governor. Who does he expect wants to see him in office again?
O’Malley/2016 ping
Your far to kind... He’s a liberal POS that left Maryland in a mess, taxes rain water run off and couldn’t get his Lt Governor elected.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
Good, OweMalley. Hope this clown loses for you again.
