I’m nowhere near the city, two hours out in orange county, but I’d love to see deblasio try to keep schools open thus time as the snow jotuns pound the place flat.
Time to shutdown all fossil fueled power plants within 300 miles so that they can feel how depending on wind and solar works.
30 inches of ‘global warming’ is a good start. How about 30 feet for the center of global warming/man-made climate change support in the US? :P
Apparently, we are all going to die. Happens every January.
It’s nothing compared to the snowjob we’re getting from Washington.
We will see how ‘of historic proportions’ this storm will be. Prolly just a big ole blizzard one of many has beens. But we shall see if its a ‘ really big shew’ or just a been over_hyped again.
But, but... the pope declared “man-caused global warming” to to be real. How could this be?
Fox yesterday said they could have drifts of 6 feet deep...
... paging Al Bortion to the white courtesy telephone ...
Pshaw. The headlines make it sound as if we’re in a panic here when we are not. At least most of us are not. We’ve dealt with even worse snowstorms many times before.
I can’t wait to see if this storm is more “historic” than last year’s “historic” polar vortex storm or if the “historic” lake effect storm in Buffalo earlier this year was more “historic” than both of these “historic” storms. Anyway, something is going to be “historic” now that the “historicness” of the “historic” Obama regime is starting to wear off.
When in PA for 30 years, we had several storms of 2 feet or more. I don’t recall having one where there were such strong winds as they’re predicting. The drifting will be unreal and there will be piles of snow against sold surfaces like garage doors/fronts of houses easily exceeding 6 feet.
In NYC, it’s a nightmare because they have to figure out where to put the snow after the streets are plowed. Probably dump it in the river, but that will take a lot of time.
The worse storm I can recall was in the early 90’s - about 2.5 feet. It took over a week for the community to start functioning normally again. No school for a whole week.

We’re expecting some minor snowfall here in VA, but nothin like the northerners are getting. Hopefully folks are well-prepared up there.
Jersey Shore, too- 24-36 inches predicted.
