Exit polls suggest a historic victory for the anti-austerity Syriza party in Greece's closely fought general election.
One poll suggested Syriza took 35.5% of the votes, and the other suggested it took 39.5%, well ahead of ruling New Democracy party on 23%-27%.
It is unclear whether Syriza has enough votes to govern the country alone.
Syriza's Alexis Tsipras has pledged to renegotiate Greece's debt arrangement with international creditors....

Sryiza gets 50 seats as the winning party and if it runs around 40 percent it may get 100 of the 250 apportioned seats.
They may get close to or over the 151 seat
They may get the 151 seats needed for a majority.
I wonder if the people who pushed the EU for decades were smart enough to anticipate that deadbeat governments would overspend, send the bill to the EU, and then - when the EU decided it couldn’t pay anymore - turn their populations against the EU (the big, mean, distant authoritarian father figure) and all start yelling FU EU! at the top of their voices.
I mean, they were all so much smarter than everyone else, right? They must have seen this coming.
The Greeks just voted themselves more money. What could go wrong?
Something for nothing. The oldest scam known since the dawn of mankind.
In a schaudenfreud way I hope they won and follow through with their leftist plans. The world needs an example of what misery the left can impose on it’s own people.
I guess Venezuela isn’t enough.
Not really a surprise.
The EU’s austerity policies were always unpopular in Greece.
The vote is really a blow to Brussels’ EUSSR dreams.
Those died tonight in Athens.
Spend till you drop! Party wins?
Their idea of “austerity” is stupid. Greece needs to slash spending to stay within their budget is all.
The USSR wasn't enough. Hungary, Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Romania weren't enough.
There will never be enough, because stupidity has an inelastic supply curve.
“I guess Venezuela isnt enough”
Venezuela isn’t enough because people expect latin american countries to be krap holes. People do not expect european countries to suddenly turn third world.
Yeah more free sh$t
The Greeks have become accustomed to a EU life style made possible by massive loans and direct subsidies. The simply do not create the wealth that justifies that standard of living. When they repeat the Argentine debacle and default on their loans, reality will begin to dawn on them even the most delusional. Within two years there will be massive emigration of their brightest and best, an aging population, they will sell their heritage art and even the sovereign rights of islands to rich buyers. Socialism fails.
Before the austerity measures 1/2 of all Greeks worked for a government entity. Many never even came to work - they just collected a check. Europe and especially Germany won't let them go back. My guess, they are out of the EU and the Euro.
People want a better life.
No politician who takes that away is going to win an election.
Austerity could be only be imposed because it ran afoul of basic democratic processes.
Greek voters rejected it and the EU’s only recourse is to eject Greece.
But if it does, other European countries may well head for the exits.
It's the "livable wage" thing writ large.
What?!
Obama isnt enough!
I guess Venezuela isnt enough.

The USSR wasn’t enough. Hungary, Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Romania weren’t enough.

All past instances of failed communism (which means all past instances of communism) prove nothing to the dedicated liberal who believes (or pretends to believe) that the next time will be the perfect time.
Yeah, and some will work for it, if they have to.
But unfortunately most will steal it from their neighbor, especially if the government helps them do so.
As an aside, anyone think Obama might detour to Athens to party with the new government if they achieve a parliamentary majority. He's already detouring to Saudi on his way back from India to bow to the demented king; Athens wouldn't be far out of his way home.
