It should be noted that the CDC did request a study on gun violence in 2013, but the results of that study “didn’t fit the narrative that guns are dangerous.”

I guess they'll just have to make up their own "study" now.

The 2nd Amendment to the Constitution doesn’t mention self defense.

Firearms are not a disease. The funding language for the CDC should specifically deny any monies being used for any such “study”.

The CDC couldn’t even do a competent Ebola apt clean up. They have no mission or business being involved with the issue of the 2nd amendment.

The mere fact that the defensive use is being reported is a good thing.

There was a time I was pissed off about how the public health officials in Washington let their biases influence their science on the issue of guns.

That was back when I thought that they at least managed to get the public health side of what they did mostly right.

Then I learned about how fundamentally screwed up has been their dietary and exercise advice, for the last 40 years.

Now I'm pissed off at them in general.

CDC? Doesn’t that stand for Clowns Defending Clowns?

Given their record of handling dangerous diseases, they are a threat to national and international health. There is no reason for them to threaten individual safety, too.

How about counting all the armed money guards filling ATMs etc. That is probably more than a million a day.

Note that they are allowed ‘open holsters’!

The CDC (and their anti-gun backers) have been trying to get this camel's nose under the tent for MANY years. The WaPo needs to answer why it is that, specifically, the CDC is the only "authority" capable of such analysis. The various federal criminal/crime related agencies have been funding such studies for years. Why are THOSE studies not sufficient???

THE most hilarious situtation was when two anti-gun researchers (Jens Ludwig and Graham Cook) were funded by the Department of Justice to study the issue. Previous studies by Kleck had shown that the number of defensive usages were on the order of two million per year. When Ludwig and Cook had compiled and analyzed their data, they found that THEIR OWN DATA showed that such usages were almost ten times larger (TWENTY million per year).

They then spent the rest of their report trying to show why THEIR OWN DATA (supposedly more accurate than Kleck's) just HAD to be wrong.

The study can be easily found on-line at the DOJ website (I've posted the link in several other threads similar to this one).

Something we learned during this Ebola outbreak, was how much damage the CDC had done to themselves, to their original purpose, and to their mission in America, by getting into politics.

CDC should have been the ultimate source for information and guidance in disease and pandemics during the Ebola fears, but instead, many mocked or ignored them because they had so damaged their credibility with political issues like guns, establishing that they were not trustworthy to deal in pure facts and couldn’t be depended on to not manipulate, or conceal information, to sell political friendly falsehoods.

Will the CDC also study the health impact of knives, baseball bats, roller skates and other devices known to cause bodily injury in even larger numbers than firearms?

The libtard should have been shot.

But seriously, I believe that it is very important that CCW holders realize that the purpose here is to keep your weapon CONCEALED! Otherwise you may find yourself the target of law enforcement or a bad guy that might shoot you first when about to commit a robbery, seeing that you are wearing a gun and pose a threat to him.

OOPS? Florida man tries to be a hero and tackles LEGAL gun owner

By The Right Scoop

This man must be a liberal type who thought he was saving the world by tackling this legal gun owner:

FOX TAMPA – According to the sheriff’s office, Michael Foster, 43, saw Clarence Daniels, 62, in the Walmart parking lot with a gun holstered under his coat.

Foster followed Daniels into the store, put him in a choke-hold and brought him to the ground, the sheriff’s office said. He then started yelling that Daniels had a gun.

A struggle ensued, with Daniels yelling that he had a permit. Security detained both men until deputies arrived.

They confirmed Daniels had a permit for the gun, and arrested Foster.

He is charged with one count of battery.

He deserved to get arrested and I’m glad he did. Maybe next time this libtard won’t freak out when he sees someone with a gun.

There is no way to measure how many crimes are prevented because criminals fear running into an armed citizen. Any suggestion that armed citizens are not a major deterrence is laughable.

Do guns defend us from tyranny? That is why they added the Second Amendment.

The CDC is a leftist agenda driven political creation. Their "conclusion" has already been decided. Their supporters will fund work that supports the per-conceived result.
