I’m sure the “independent monitor” will be a free thinking, police friendly and strictly objective citizen.

Why would anyone want to go into law enforcement?

I have a suggestion for Cuomo's paid monitor since he likes to keep his friends close : Sheldon Silver .
"Federal authorities are expected to arrest Sheldon Silver, the powerful speaker of the New York State Assembly,
on corruption charges on Thursday,.."
This would be significant as Cuomo cancelled the "Moreland Commission Ethics Investigation" when they got close to his supporters...and Sheldon will need bail money .

I think we need a monitor to monitor the monitor to the monitor, of the monitor. If legal....we could make 300 million Americans....monitors....of each other.

How could any policeman of integrity be part of a protection detail for this incredibly bigoted man?

This is flat out unconstitutional. But, who’s going to do anything about it?
To: harwood
And will the monitor do if they don’t like the finding of the grand jury?

If the state is going to do that, why not just skip the grand jury process altogether. Why bother with it, if you are going to allow a state appointed individual, to simply decide whether or not a person who has been indicted, should go to trial.

...And raising taxes to pay for more and bigger government.
Again more style over substance.

In the future, all Americans will be monitors, community organizers or healthcare navigators. Everyone will be paid a living wage working at the ministry of equality. Face book will overwatch your happiness.

I think we need a monitor to monitor the monitor to the monitor, of the monitor. If legal....we could make 300 million Americans....monitors....of each other. That exact scenario played out in a Dr. Seuss book: "You sure are lucky, Ducky".
It made such an impression on me that I still remember it to this day.
