WILMINGTON, N.C. - An Air Force veteran who served in Kuwait found a note on her car Friday criticizing her for parking in a veterans-only parking spot in Wilmington.
Mary Claire Caine told WECT-TV that she returned to her car from shopping at Harris Teeter to find a note plastered to her front window from a person identifying themselves as a "Wounded Vet."
It read, "Maybe [you] can't read the sign you parked in front of ... This space is reserved for those who fought for America ... not you. Thanks, Wounded Vet."
Caine, who served in Kuwait and on the flight line of the F-117 Nighthawk, said her heart sank.

Why do I dislike this woman /rhetorical

Salespeople can’t be vets? The guy who wrote the note made a fool of himself by making unfounded assumptions. Hopefully he’s heard about his mistake and learned from it.
I don’t believe in nor partake of such “priviledges”, but it’s the owner’s prerogative to offer them.
If I did take advantage of such a priviledge, I’d have simply kept the “note”...and parked there the next time I visited that establishment.
Then I’d wait for the ahole to mess with my vehicle and confront them...
Yes, I wonder what hs FReeper name is.
I certainly don’t look like a vet, what with my need of a haircut and not having shaved in a while.
Welp, whoever wrote that note is gonna feel pretty damn small, hope they’ve got enough of a pair to own up and apologize.
Was she a wounded VET? Aw hell Naw!
Not sure what the rules are but I would think you have to have a plate or sticker that proves you are a wounded Vet.
I am a Vet, would I park there? Aw..HELL NAW!
She's whining to get publicity.
If she's a vet, then she just ignores the note.
The sign ought to say that if that is what it means. Otherwise it invites confusion. Women vets are as old as the Navy WAVEs if not older.
Vet’s usually have some sort of sticker on their car with the service ... I’ve seen cars parked in vet’s slots at Home Depot that had no sticker denoting what service they were in.
Sign says Vet not wounded Vet.
Kind of an honor thing, used in areas where it would be respected.
Army nurses during WW1 .....
It did say what it means. I got confused by the aholes note..
But how do you enforce as sign like that?
We all carry green cards or DD214’s?
I would assume it's for wounded vets only, too. Is their a sticker, tag policy?
I wonder if the note writer was even a veteran, or just some clown trying to make trouble
