Seahawks rally stuns Packers 28-22 in OT for NFC title
Posted on 01/18/2015 4:51:52 PM PST by djf
Never doubt the resilience of the Seattle Seahawks.
Plagued by turnovers and outplayed much of Sunday by Green Bay, the Seahawks staged an improbable comeback and beat the Packers 28-22 in overtime. Russell Wilson, who struggled until the final minutes, hit Jermaine Kearse for a 35-yard touchdown 3:19 into the extra period on the only possession.
The Seahawks became the first defending champion to make the Super Bowl in 10 years, and will play the winner of the AFC title game between Indianapolis and New England. How they got there was stunning.

If you want to question my play calling
Im not questioning it, McCarthy said, via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. I came in here to run the ball. The one statistic I had has as far as a target to hit was 20 rushing attempts in the second half, I thought that would be a very important target to hit for our offense.

Like I said to Bender on another thread, that between the third and fourth quarter I was thinking “Man if there was just one more quarter, Seattle would be on top...!”
And Lo!
It was so!

The absolute WORSE 5 minutes of defense I have ever saw. Blew a 19-7 lead with the STINKING PREVENT DEFENSE. All a prevent D prevents is VICTORY!!! Their victory. I’d fire my coach if he ever went to a stinking prevent defense.

It was the Bostick screw up of simply catching the ball in the last 2 minutes, and they should have won.
Clinton Dix couldn’t guard anyone. Heck, his first name “Ha Ha’ pretty much says it all. This clown just gave up on Kearse as the commentators correctly stated so. Plus Rodger kept handing it to Lacey who couldn’t do sh*t. Rodgers should have thrown and thrown.
So my Seahawks goes to the SB again...

The Packers celebrated waaaay too early after they intercepted Seattle with about 5 mins left. They ran the ball like limp noodle, it looked like they were not even trying. Their sideline was full of hugs and fist bumps. Green Bay was then backed up about 18 yards from the original line of scrimmage in 3 plays, with Seattle burning their timeouts and almost no time taken off the clock. Then they punted, and let Seattle back in the game.

I agree 100%. You only go into a “prevent defense” after you decide you want to lose.

Rodgers should have thrown and thrown. They said his calf muscle was almost useless at that point in the game. Fine, then put in the #2 quarterback.

All a prevent D prevents is VICTORY!!! Exactly. Green Bay was acting like they had it all won with 5 mins left. Well, by all rights they should have won. I rooted for Green Bay because Seattle players made a commercial this month for ObamaCare. But, the Seattle quarterback (Russell Wilson) is a Christian, and he cried during the post-game interview and gave glory to God, so that's fine by me.

Nah, you live and die by Rodgers. He’s the MVP, IMHO. GB just has an idiot coach who did not make the adjustments correctly. Ever see the face of a loser? Watch McCarthy’s face when Seattle make a fake return when the kicker threw a TD. Betcha Capers and MCarthy didn’t see that one coming...
