Central Intelligence Agency Director John Brennan consulted the White House before directing agency personnel to sift through a walled-off computer drive being used by the Senate Intelligence Committee to construct its investigation of the agencys torture program, according to a recently released report by the CIAs Office of the Inspector General.
The Inspector Generals report, which was completed in July but only released by the agency on Wednesday, reveals that Brennan spoke with White House chief of staff Denis McDonough before ordering CIA employees to use whatever means necessary to determine how certain sensitive internal documents had wound up in Senate investigators hands.
Brennans consultation with McDonough also came before the CIA revealed the search to then-Senate Intelligence Committee chair Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), whose staff was the target of the snooping.
The new information suggesting the White House was aware of -- and did not stop -- the CIAs computer snooping is unlikely to improve the existing distrust between Senate committee members and the executive branch. Feinstein has said that the CIA's computer search likely violated the constitutional separation of powers, an allegation the White House has declined to directly address.
The Oval Offices prior knowledge of the controversial computer review will no doubt worsen the tensions that have erupted over the matter between the executive branch, its chief intelligence agency and the lawmakers tasked with their oversight.
In January 2014, agency personnel became concerned that a set of sensitive, internal CIA documents known as the Panetta Review had somehow made their way into the hands of Feinsteins investigators, who were working at a secure, off-site CIA facility to compile a 6,600-page study on the CIA's post-9/11 torture program...

Interesting
It is only natural since the Senate has people working for the enemy and so does the CIA.
John Brennan should have never made it this far and wouldn’t make it this far in a GOP administration.
His company was found to have breached candidate passport files back in the 08 race but the media predictably lost interest in the story when Obama named him as an advisor.
Of course ‘The White House knew’. Who do you think ordered it? Just as the IRS was utilized by the White House for an election advantage in 2012 and since then just for spite.
When Obama’s passport data was stolen, the man who did it worked for the DC security outfit owned by BRENNAN.
Later, Obama appointed Brennan as head of the CIA and the passport thief was shot in the lead while he sat in his car in front of his church.
Maybe the real Prez is Brennan, who also is a Muzzie...?
Very true
Since when has Feinstein cared about whether or not Obola's administration has violated the constitutional separation of powers? Her kneepads are just about worn out from overuse.
F & F - “Naw, that was the work of a minor, out-of-control field office...
IRS - “Shucks, those were the shenanigans of a distant field-office we never think about...”
Senate Spying - ???
“Feinstein has said that the CIA’s computer search likely violated “
Interesting that they have managed to piss her off, no?
ping
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Boxer can go yell at Obama.
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!
There is, first and foremost, something called the Fourth Amendment. Second, there is a legal prohibition against the CIA is working within the territorial boundaries of the United States.
Does NO ONE in the government take the Constitutional and statutory limitations of their authority seriously anymore? These are crimes against the People of the United States.

White House Ordered CIA To Snoop On Senate, Report Says
And it will boil down to us taking care of these bastards. Can't come soon enough IMO.
F U B O!
If this had been the CIA under the Bush administration, what do you think Feinstein, Democrats, and the MSM would be saying and doing right now?
The Republicans should be pressing the issue. Democrats would have to join them, or sit on their hands.
....and lets not forget the almost 1000 FBI files what were viewed and hidden by the Clintons for almost a year........
And we wonder why the RINO leadership of the GOPe is licking the great Zero’s feet and fighting each other to kiss his A**?
