BERLIN (Reuters) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Monday Islam "belongs to Germany", in a clear repudiation of anti-immigration protesters gathering in Dresden and other cities.
A day after walking arm-in-arm with French President Francois Hollande at the front of a massive march in Paris to honor the victims of killings by Islamic militants, Merkel received the Turkish prime minister and urged dialogue among religions.
The conservative chancellor pointed to comments made by former German president Christian Wulff, who said in 2010 that Islam was part of Germany, triggering a fierce debate.
"Former president Wulff said Islam belongs to Germany. That is true. I also hold this opinion," Merkel said at a news conference with Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who also took part with other world leaders in the Paris march on Sunday.
She was speaking hours before marches by a movement dubbed PEGIDA, or Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West, were due to begin in several German cities.
Such demonstrations, launched in Dresden, have been dwarfed by counter-protests. Merkel has said PEGIDA's rallies are organized by people with "hatred in their hearts".

The great delusional spirit continues unabated. Amazing how politicians all over the world refuse to listen to their fellow countrymen and unilaterally plow ahead with national suicide.
At this point, seeing their dog lit on fire while they are being forced onto the chopping block to be beheaded would prompt one last bleat of “this is only the radical minority of a peaceful religion” from such as these. Some will never wake up, buddy.
And increasingly, Germany belongs to Islam.
We now know that Frau Merkel is dyslexic, since she meant to say, “Germany belongs to Islam”.

First and foremost, she is a politician, stuck on PC phrases and actions. Secondly, she is a German Citizen. Somewhere way down the line, she believes in a relatively free society, but is willing to put expression of that belief ‘on ice’ (at the German’s own peril) as per present demands of diplomacy. She will end up pretending to serve both masters, like our own President used to do before he stopped caring what most Americans thought.
If germany keeps electing fools pretty soon “Germany will belong to Islam”.....

Islam as based on the Koran is NOT a religion, no more than the National Socialist movement in Germany nearly 80 years ago, based on the book “Mein Kampf”, was a religion. It is an IDEOLOGY, based on the suppression and brutalization of the “inferior” persons, for the greater glory of the Exalted Ones.
There are so many aspects of Islam that overlap with that of National Socialism,, that one could believe that Hitler and his cohorts were secretly Muslims, and just sharpened up a few of the methods of intimidation and “problem solving” into a modern technologically advanced program.
The Nazis certainly worked in close cooperation with the various Islamic factions in the Middle East during the late 1930’s and well into the Second World War.
Have the Germans forgotten this lesson from history so completely they cannot see the irony of the Muslim invasion?
