Mitt Romney Thinks Ted Cruz Will Destroy Jeb Bush’s Candidacy
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | January 10, 2015 | Dan Riehl

Posted on 01/10/2015 11:42:11 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

A tidbit buried at the end of a Romney adviser’s longish rationalization of why Mitt Romney may yet again run for the GOP’s nomination suggests Romney does not think Jeb Bush has what it takes to win the GOP nomination.

BuzzFeed reports:

According to one former adviser, the biggest political question Romney will be considering as he makes his decision is whether Bush will be able to make it to the general election.

“Look, Jeb’s a good guy. I think the governor likes Jeb,” the adviser said. “But Jeb is Common Core, Jeb is immigration, Jeb has been talking about raising taxes recently. Can you imagine Jeb trying to get through a Republican primary? Can you imagine what Ted Cruz is going to do to Jeb Bush? I mean, that’s going to be ugly.”(continued)

shouldn’t we be getting behind someone who can win, like Scott Walker or Ben Carson, instead of the inevitably doomed Ted Cruz?

Your post makes no sense. Cruz or Lose.

Ben Carson, a man who has never run for any office, much less won one, is more of a potential winner than Ted Cruz? Wut?

Alright, I’ll bite. Who IS Mitt anyway? Who is he this week? Is he the ‘severe’ conservative from the 2008 campaign? Or has he switched back to being the gay pandering, Planned Parenthood fundraising, medicine socializing, state trooper misusing, slimebag leftist that he was during his one failed term as Massachusetts governor?

It’s a fair question considering that the man changes core values like other people change their socks.

I don't get it either. I like Carson. I think he'll make a fine Surgeon General in the Cruz Administration, but that's about it.

The GOP-wing of the Democrat party is in abject fear of Ted. That’s why they started the 2016 presidential campaign a year early.

If it boils down to Mitt and Cruz, Ted wins the nomination in a walk.

You can buy it or not, but it's not made up it's what his son said.

I wasn't accusing you of making it up. It was Romney's son's statement which I question. Actually, if Tagg Romney is anything like his dad, I doubt anything that he says publicly. The flop will likely follow the flip.

Because you can.

Your wealth analogy has a lot of holes in it. But even if the wasted personal wealth was not an issue, why would he spend months and months of campaigning round-the-clock and dragging his family and others through the same if he didn't want to win anyway.

You know that if you're right, I would have even less respect for Romney and I don't have much currently. He would have to be a total thoughtless, self-centered creep to solicit money and effort from so many people if he had no intent to try and win. Such deception would be disgusting and blatantly dishonest.

“I don’t hate him, but, I don’t trust “The Huckster”.”

People that refer to Governor Huckabee as “The Huckster” are Huckabee haters regardless of their disclaimers. Typically they have a predjudice against Christian Southerners as well. Hey, that is one’s choice...just be honest and own it like I own my insistence on Christian Conservative Evangelical. I am open in my dislike for Mormons like Romney and don’t attempt to hide it.

I also point out the “beloved” Sarah Palin made numerous BAD endorsements over time - some were bewildering actually. You are NEVER going to find a candidate that doesn’t have flaws. Also, ALL candidates - on some issues - are going to compromise.

I am clear that my selection criteria requires them to be a theologically conservative evangelical Christian. That is my primary concern. So, right now that leaves me of the “serious” runners with either Cruz or Huckabee. I don’t care to hear tired old arguments against Huckabee...especially snide ones. So, save that trash for someone that cares.

I don't think the idea was that Mitt set out to lose. It was more that at some level he didn't have the fire in the belly -- the passion and drive to make his wish a reality.

If the last run was so hard for him, why the interest now? He now knows that he isn't cut out for the rigors of a campaign. What makes him think that being POTUS would be any easier? Has Romney ever spoken on his son's comments?

....”People that refer to Governor Huckabee as “The Huckster” are Huckabee haters regardless of their disclaimers.”.....

That’s not true....Huckabee isn’t exactly made up of the personality style people care to listen to. I simply don’t like his appraoch, and not just politically. ...and he like Jeb wouldn’t stand against Hillary.

Somehow I have in my mind a replay of MCCain’s handing over the Presidency if either Jeb, Huckabee, Romney or Santorum get even close to winning.

Though of course Romney will always be the snake he is.

I can hardly wait for the Debates. I fully expect Jebby to lie and distort with
every word coming out of his sarcastic mouth. If he makes it that far.

If the GOP Hates Conservatives so badly, why do the RINO's always become Conservative
when they want to win an election? Democrats do it also. So now, who will be the true Proven Conservative Leader?
