Question: Can Boehner be impeached like POTUS?
Boomer

Okay. Boehner won the speakership by a narrow margin.
Two questions. Can he be removed if he doesn't get the message from the conservatives and do you think he will change his tact now that he has been told in no uncertain terms the conservative base is very unhappy with him and his actions to this point or will he simply ignore us going forward?

Senator William Blount of Tennessee was impeached by the House of Representatives in 1797. The Senate expelled Blount so the impeachment trial did not go forward.
If Boehner was impeached it would take every Republican in the Senate, including the RINOs to vote against him plus they would need 13 Democrats in order to get to the required 67 votes needed to remove him from office.
The original poster’s premise that it was a close election is flawed. Boehner received 216 votes to Pelosi’s 164 and 26 votes were cast for other candidates. The most any single alternative conservative candidate got was 12 votes for Representative Daniel Webster of Florida.

Why would anyone want to impeach him? They won thanks to his superb leadership. Now they can wine and dine lobbyists with their good friends across the aisle, pad their oversees accounts, and live it while we slouch to civil war. Like hollow men. Like stuffed men.

The way they see it Boehner led them to a great victory. Sure we got hosed but we don't matter. Enough of us will pull the lever again like we've always done. Party unity, fight Harry Reid, all that crap will come back in 2016.

No.
You’ll have to find the dirt Obama has on him and release it.

That’s what got Jim Wright removed. Not sure he was speaker but he had some power. He was selling books that had some pages with one word on them.

Boehner’s opposition had 82% of the votes needed to oust him as Speaker.

I wrote emails and left a message to Boehner telling him that he was acting like BO and Holder with this retaliation crap and that democrats NEVER did that to people in their own party. Also I said by retaliating against them, they are retaliating against the Americans that put them in office. Thuggish behavior is how I ended the conversations. Also, petty and immature.

To all those who want to change the party from the inside and keep voting for republicans, the following is what Pete Sessions said concerning congress members being punished for not voting for boner:
Sometimes there are casualties and changes, and people make decisions, said Rules Committee Chairman Pete Sessions, a Texas Republican. They make decisions to do things knowing sometimes there can be consequences.
While he praised Webster and Nugent for their service on the panel, Sessions said membership on the leadership-driven committee requires loyalty to the Republican conference.

Where do you expect to get 67 votes in the US Senate to vote for conviction and removal from office?

The whole vote was a fraud, a show, planned out to give us rubes some hope. The republicans in Congress are marching in lock step with the fascist democrats.
There is no difference between them.
So no, there is no hope that he will be removed except by an act of God.

Rules Committee chairman Pete Sessions (R., Texas) pointed out that the panel works for Boehner, more than any other. The committee works at the behest of the speaker, Sessions said, perRoll Call, and the speaker I believe any speaker would want and need a person focused on that agenda.Wrong, scumbag. House members are there to serve those they represent... taxpayers in their district, not the backbiting politican motivations of a common drunk with an agenda so far away from what the entire country wants. Fine, if they want to have their little Key Club Cliques for committees, have at it... it's time to officially ABANDON THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. It's time for a new Whig party... with a new platform. Are there any other Whiggers here?
