John Boehner is getting revenge.
He secured his third term as speaker Tuesday afternoon, losing 25 votes on the House floor to three relatively unknown members of the House Republican Conference. But hes already punishing those who betrayed him.
First up: Florida Reps. Daniel Webster and Richard Nugent. The pair will be booted from their spots on the House Rules Committee, according to sources familiar with the decision. Webster ran against Boehner (R-Ohio) for speaker Tuesday, and Nugent supported his fellow Floridian.
The Rules Committee is a panel appointed by the speaker, and it controls the flow of legislation to the House floor. Its a prestigious appointment for members who are loyal to leadership.

That’s exactly the point I’m at! Why legitimize a system that is obviously rigged anyhow?
Politicians aren’t listening and haven’t been for a long time. It gets more egregious every year, yet I go out and do my “civic duty” and legitimize the process (that I know will never go the direction I want to see it go) with my vote.
What is the point of voting anymore?
That so many here seem to think this will change without a major change in voting patterns (which hasn’t happened for decades now) is just silly.
“Vengeful POS”
Totally expected.
Now, the 25 upon whom revenge has been exacted have no reason to caucus with Republicans - if they are going to be isolated.
If they aren’t spineless, they should caucus as “conservatives” - further underscoring the obvious - that Conservatism and the GOP are divorced from each other.
If Boehner thinks he’ll never need them, then fine.
Then start stripping off conservatives one-by-one. Eventually they’ll notice. Strip off donors, and they’ll notice right away.
That’s how it’s done, but I expect even these folks will just roll up in the fetal position and hope for some crumbs from a benevolent and forgiving Speaker.
That’s how the 25 should position themselves.
Can someone please start a PAC for the express purpose of funding a primary challenge to this idiot?
Every representative that is removed from their position should change their party to “Conservative Party”.
“If you attempt to kill the king, its a good idea to succeed”
And “if at first, you don’t succeed....”
Nothing will be gained by splitting the party except the same thing that got us our present Communist/Marxist President. Boehner is still more succeptible to being trampled into some sort of sanity than even the most conservative Democrat. But his being whipped into some sort of shape would require a whole heap of effort and perseverance from the likes of us. He is our servant. If we can’t make him work for us then we have failed too.
Proverbs 12:16
A fools wrath is known at once, but a prudent man covereth shame.
Ok. Thanks for the correction. :-)
Juan Boner is the most hated man on the planet. At least with Obama you know what you are getting. With Juan you have a power hungry backstabbing traitor who is on the progressive side. All RINOs are really progressive plants inside what was a moderate right party.
I loathe this guy, more so because he was supposed to be on our side. Butt wipe.
In Chicago we refer to the ballet dancer as Tiny Dancer... short on stature, long on “spin.”
Boner and McSurrender are courageous when attacking anyone who is loyal to the Republican Base.
If only Boner and McSurrender were half that aggressive vs. Obama and the Dems.
But in effort to say something positive about B&M...they would make good Democrats...being liers, RINO’s and vicious.
9 out of 10 Republicans voted for Boner.
And all the Repubs voted for McSurrender.
We are a One Party State now.
We are the USSA.
The People have been betrayed by their “leaders”.
