Whoever runs for the Republican leadership of the U.S. House on Tuesday must communicate on paper how Congress is going to lead on the big issues. The American people elected us to solve trillion-dollar problems, not to kick the can down the road with only symbolic votes. My district expects any leader to clearly outline bold solutions on the major issues of our day, such as:
· How he or she will defend the Constitution and challenge President Obamas repeated illegal overreach into areas of congressional authority, particularly his unconstitutional amnesty by presidential decree;
· How he will end Washingtons out-of-control spending and debt addiction that is mortgaging our childrens future and promises to cripple our economy within the next decade;
· How he will defund Obamacare to stop skyrocketing insurance premiums on struggling families as well as the destruction of jobs its causing;
· How he will stop excessive regulations like the EPAs overregulation of farms and small businesses regulations that have made it prohibitively expensive to run a business and create jobs.
These are not just my priorities. These are the priorities that the American people expressed loudly and clearly on November 4th. And these need to be the priorities of the leaders of this next Congress.

Yes, Brat’s win was like the Doolittle raid on Japan. Boehner’s loss of the Speakership will be like the Battle of Midway was to Japan- from the DC establishment’s point of view.
Bump for Brat!
It’s 29 instead of 30 because the corrupt Grimm resigned. So there are now only 434 elected representatives.
All Boehner needs is for enough Democrats to abstain or vote present: 2 for every Republican over 29 that votes against him.
Under House precedent, votes not cast for an individual reduce the number needed for a majority.
Thank you.
I was wondering about that- The prior article was counting 435 total, and I didn’t know if that included Grimm’s adios or not.
“All the Dems will vote for Pelousy.”
Unless they can MUCK UP the Republicans by helping Boener.
...but, by then, I would expect Boener to have dropped out.
“Brat is a big deal, the pros in DC are scared to death of him.”
You’re DAMN RIGHT. He doesn’t own ANYONE ANYTHING. He got there despite their best efforts at keeping him down. He answers only to himself and the people he trusts.
The will all vote for Pelosi on the first vote. After which they’ll know how many are needed to switch to offset the republicans who didn’t vote for boner.
Rinos and democrats may not agree on what they want. But they agree on what they DON’T want. And that’s a conservative speaker.
The Fake Conservatives will be exposed Tuesday.
And the conservative nation will be watching and taking names.
I believe once they get elected they realize there’s nothing that can be done. Those elected who are decent keep fighting anyway or don’t run again and go home. The rest join the team and start cashing in.
I wonder how much money would be brought in if the Federal Government sold all surplus land. You could exmpt military bases, Federal Buildings etc. but all national forests, grasslands etc would go. Also of course for the most part, they could keep national parks unless the park was just full of unused land.
Yep. The good ones go home and start prepping.
As far as I can see the voters who put the GOP in power are worried about open borders and immigration. They want Mr. Executive Order stopped. They want to repeal Obamacare.
I think everyone knows the spending is a forgone conclusion with the debt now off the charts and no one willing to seriously cut out whole agencies or major centers of power in Washington. That is never going to happen. So spending is never going to be cut in any meaningful way in light of the debt.
“...While I like Speaker Boehner personally, he will not have my support for Speaker....”
*****************************************************************************************************
Good for the new congressman, he’s a man of integrity. He’s also likely saying a little white lie when he says “...I like Speaker Boehner personally...”. I think few true conservatives TRULY like the despicable, duplicitous, devious sell-out Boehner.
Let’s hope there are a sufficient number of other men/women of integrity in the 114th Congress’ Republican caucus to eject the vile creature Boehner.
Where’s the video?
Many of us now are aware of the pre-votes that you guys get to pass yea, which matters, before the vote that you get credit for to vote "no" to occur. I'm sick of the slick moves by Congress to bypass the voters, i.e., citizens who elected you! My message is any vote to retain Boehner, in any sneaky, parliamentary manner, will be noted and passed through social media.
To do the right thing a politician would have to be a non-politician and piss off a whole lot of his own kind. Probably would be run out pretty soon by the establishment ogliarchs.
Under our Constitution the one office that can really cut spending is the President.
Unfortunately national television wants high consumer spending supported by government money and they control the national debate.
So we’re forced to try to cut spending by electing congressmen to do it. It’s very ‘iffy’ that we’ll succeed in time.
I like that....I may borrow from it, for what I’ll be sending/telling my RINO Rep.
