Yesterday, Governor Palin shared a seemingly benign "happy new year" Facebook post that included photos of her son Trig using their dog, Jill Hadassa, as a footstool of sorts. True to form, the media and the Left (pardon the redundancy) jumped at the opportunity to express their outrage. Animal rights groups also made their disapproval of the photos known as well, per POLITICO:
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals called the post inappropriate.
Its odd that anyone let alone a mother would find it appropriate to post such a thing, with no apparent sympathy for the dog in the photo, PETA President Ingrid Newkirk said in a statement to POLITICO.
It is odd, Ingrid, isnt it? Lets flashback to about six months ago to an image shared by Ellen Degeneres on her shows Facebook page:
Its odd that PETA did not make the same statement when Degeneres, their 2009 Woman of the Year, shared a similar photo with her more than 17 million Facebook friends this summer and received more than a quarter of a million likes. Wouldnt PETA expect someone whom they honored to not condone such an action and photo, even if it didnt not involve her or her child?
My post is neither a condemnation or an approval of the photos shared by Governor Palin or Ellen Degeneres. It simply highlights yet another example of the selective outrage of the media and various organizations when it comes to Governor Palin. One moment they are declaring her politically dead and irrelevant; the next moment they are, by the magnitude of their outrage, implying that she has tremendous influence over the publics treatment of animals. Such logical whiplash must be painful.
As the Governor shared last Spring, the Palins received their beautiful dog from the Puppy Jake Foundation which trains dogs to be service animals for wounded warriors and others who need assistance. You can read more about the Foundation here.
(H/T to several sources on Facebook and Twitter who have been circulating the Ellen Show photo)
LOL - I see a couple of posts further down you caught your mistake. :)
In the picture posted by the sodomite, there's more pressure being applied to the animal thus hurting it. In contrast, note that young Trig Palin is taking care to lift himself by the sink's edge. Governor Sarah Palin is a good mother with well-behaved, well-mannered children. The love between her beautiful child and family pet is obvious. That's clearly not the case in the picture posted by the sodomite.
It's a fact that leftists hate people and dogs. It's part of their temperament. Most abused animals at shelters come from liberal "homes".
Oh, bull puckey! The dog with the little girl on it is happier than a pig in a walnut orchard.
I respectfully disagree. The girl is wearing footwear that applies additional pressure to the helpless animal. The degenerate who posted the picture is also unaware of the scowl on the dog. In contrast, the Palin pet is actually smiling in one of the pictures because young Trig is barefoot, thus making the experience a happy, comfortable one for the dog. Furthermore this of bonding between human and dogs is typical of the Yup'ik culture. I applaud Governor Palin for upsetting liberals.
I had not heard that idiom before. "Happier than a pig is slop" is familiar but, yes, you're right. A cursory web search does show that pigs are indeed content in a walnut orchard. Thanks for the info, FRiend!
Give me a freakin’ break!
Who the heck names their dog “Jill Hadassa?” The article seems to say Palin did. What?
The dog is from some fancy dog trainer in Iowa for guide dogs/ comfort dogs (or some-such name) for special needs kids. I got the impression that the name is what the trainer/breeder gave it.
I know a blind guy that spent weeks at some special place in California to get a guide dog - if he or the dog failed it would have been another long wait for the guy. His dog has some long name like Sir Afordshire Earl on the Mountain. He calls it “Duke”.
When Gov. Palin started her address with “May 2015...” I actually expected the first knee-jerk idiot response to be: “It’s JAN 2015! How is she soooo stooped?!!!”
Yeah, later on I posted that I was mistaken. Thnaks.
First Sarah Palin showed up in Israel wearing a GIANT Star of David pendant. Now shes naming her pets with the Jewish state in mind. No word on whether shes planning on joining the the Zionist womens organization by the same name. For those of you in the baby-naming stage, Hadassah is a Hebrew girls name which means myrtle.
Is it good or bad news for the womens Zionist organization that it now shares a name with former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palins dog?
Yeah, but did you notice the look of absolute distress on the dog’s face? :=)
Myself, I like to squish them into a messy blob with the flyswatter. Guts a over the place. Take that, PETA!
But back to the kid standing on the dog. I've had many dogs in my day. My kids, grandkids, Brownies and Cub Scouts would literally ride, pounce on and generally harass our Rottweilers, but the dogs loved the attention. If a dog doesn't want you doing something to him (in this case, the kid standing on the dog), the dog will let you know soon enough. And if you're smart, you'll never do whatever you were doing again.
PETA is such a joke and so hypocritical. It is public record that PETA destroys (as in "kills") hundreds of dogs a year. But my oh my, such cruelty to the dog from the little kid standing on him /sarcasm/.
“...their dog, Jill Hadassa,...”
Their dog is Jewish!!!
LOL!
No, I was referring to the picture of the little girl brushing her teeth while standing on the dog.
I have a feeling this is something going around with owners of large dogs and small children - a kind of selfie. Hardly shocking.
Yep, see my later post # 36. I finally caught up with that. LOL
From "Dreams From My Father":
"With Lolo, I learned how to eat small green chili peppers raw with dinner (plenty of rice), and, away from the dinner table, I was introduced to dog meat (tough), snake meat (tougher), and roasted grasshopper (crunchy).
Whenever one of these stories comes out again, just post this for the lefties and they go away.
No problem. :)
I get mixed up all the time. LOL
