With a 10 point lead in the most recent polls, Jeb Bush has apparently decided that 2016 is his year. He has now resigned from all corporate boards, clearing the way for his run for the GOP presidential nomination in 2016.
Former Florida governor Jeb Bush, moving closer to a possible presidential run, has resigned all of his corporate and nonprofit board memberships, including with his own education foundation, his office said late Wednesday night.
He also resigned as a paid adviser to a for-profit education company that sells online courses to public university students in exchange for a share of their tuition payments.
Bush’s New Year’s Eve disclosure, coming in an e-mail from an aide to The Washingotn Post, culminated a string of moves he has made in recent days to shed business interests that have enriched him since leaving office in 2007. The aide said the resignations had been made “effective today.”
The aide said Bush was reviewing other businesses in which he is principal partner or owner, such as Jeb Bush & Associates, a consulting firm, and Britton Hill Partnership, a business advisory group that in 2013 set up private-equity funds investing in energy and aviation.
Aides said Bush wants to devote his time to exploring a return to politics rather than pursuing his business commitments. But separating himself from those interests now could also be a strategic attempt to prepare for the added scrutiny of a hotly contested campaign for the Republican nomination.

>>I choose to vote against dynasties.
Is that OK with you?<<
I am never against someone’s voting rules, no matter how nonsensical or childish.
Jeb couldn’t save poor, innocent Terri Schiavo from that lowly death loving swamp judge. How’s he gonna save America from the rabid leftists? Go away Mr Jeb Milquetoast and take your Mittens fellow too.
Any questions?
Indeed. Euripides was no fool.
We are mad to elect at least half of the candidates we do...
“This whole fear of a dynasty is silly and akin to conspiracy theories.”
No, it is not. You are either a troll looking to dispel the dynasty issue or you are sorely ignorant of what a dynasty is and can do.
I’m tired of reality-show family dynasties using this country for a play thing.
“The idea of a dynasty is for children.”
Ignorance of dynasties is for children, so grow up and learn something for once.
Booooosh brother vs.adopted sister-in-law Hellary. Theatre of, by and for the absurd.
Please stop the insanity! No more Bushes! No more establishment lefties!
PEE ON BUSH - KILL IT !
PS Moderates as a rule do not contribute money to campaigns, so I guess Prince Rebus and the COC will be financing JEBBY.
Maybe Jeb Bush should put forward what he believes in.
Right now, all I know is that he is a big illegal immigrant/amnesty guy.
I wont vote for this rino.
Those too.
Consider the reverse. If Jeb’s last name was not “Bush”, is there anything in his record or abilities, that would separate him from a long list of governors with successful records (including Walker, Jindal, Perry, Pence). Indeed, his name would come after all those contenders because he has been out if public life for more than a decade.
The only reason Jeb Bush is a frontrunner is because of his name. The blame for that falls on our media culture, which regards the celebrity status of the Bush, Clinton, or Kennedy names as qualifications for public office. It is this culture of celebrity that precludes any meaningful debate of policies that many posters are deriding when they say ‘not another Bush’
Jeb Bush? Is the country THAT bereft of leaders that we need to revert to some sort of dynastic succession? As of now, my money’s on TED CRUZ. Why this fascination with the quadreniel presidential BEAUTY CONTEST when we need to focus on putting good folks into our STATE LEGISLATURES and the national House and Senate.
While he MIGHT have been a darling to Florida and national conservatives, Jeb Bush is married to a native of Mexico (Columba is the daughter of a migrant worker). And before you scream “ethnocentric bigot” at me, there’s nothing inherently wrong with that. Love knows no bounds.
George P. Bush is Jeb’s kid. Both he and junior are ALLEGED to be Republicans (RINOS?) but they are probably afflicted with a form of cultural schizophrenia, having a foot (or other body parts) in both cultures which may partially explain WHY they’re pushing AMNESTY. They’ve forgotten that THEIR loyalty SHOULD be to el Estados Unidos (sorry, the United States) and they swore oaths to the Constitution HERE, not that of Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguy, etc.
And why the Pubbies are falling all over themselves to court the 16.4% (50,477,594) of allegedly LEGAL RESIDENTS who call themselves Hispanic is beyond reason. And that a number of Pubbies are hell bent on hiking that number by another 11 to 20 MILLION NEW VOTERS, a large percentage of whom — conditioned to the freebies and other goodies supplied over the years by BOTH parties — WILL BE DEMOCRATS, causes one to question their sanity.
Memo to the GOP: With a number of exceptions, the bulk of the hispanics already here are NOT Pubbies and the new ones won’t be either. Do you clowns have a DEATH WISH??
Between the invasion from the south and the Muslim invasion, any vestige of European culture — the culture MY great-grandparents and probably yours brought here after standing in line at places like Ellis Island, being interrogated, proving they had a sponsor, being deloused and recorded — will be a distant memory IF its remembered at all.
And if — in some strange and metastasizing American desire to return to a royal family dynasty — Jeb or his son should win the White House in some future presidential beauty contest designed to divert the American electorate every four years, I’d bet that HIS activities toward this alien invasion will make W’s behavior look like a warm-up exercise.
All of that said, ya’ gotta wonder about why Rand Paul is making the same sort of pro-amnesty noises.
Bracing for FLAMES from the Bush people in here.
Jeb Bush thinks very highly of Hillary Clinton and awarded her the ‘Liberty Medal on the anniversary of Benghazi. Not to mention Islam teaching common core which he fully backs. There is a 0.000000000000000000000% chance of him getting my vote under any circumstances.

Now if he would just be honest and resign from Republican Party to join the Democrat Party I could respect his honesty.
