Col. Peter M. Bilodeau, the commander of the 52nd Fighter Wing at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, was relieved of command on Tuesday after less than six months on the job because of loss of faith and confidence in his leadership, U.S. Air Forces in Europe announced. Bilodeau, who was removed by Lt. Gen. Darryl Roberson, the commander of the 3rd Air Force, was not relieved for any misconduct or wrongdoing, according to USAFE. "This was not an easy decision to make, but I believe it is in the best interest of the men and women of the 52nd Fighter Wing," Roberson said. "My primary focus remains on motivational mission accomplishment, compassionate care of airmen and their families, and the drive to constantly improve and innovate." Roberson announced the appointment of Col. Lars R. Hubert, 52nd Fighter Wing vice commander, as interim wing commander until a replacement can assume full-time duties. Hubert has been vice commander since July 2013.

Reports have been of an Obama- directed very widespread elimination or purge of almost all of the expert experienced military leadership. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can confirm or correct these reports
He and his family attended church on base in uniform. That’s what pizzed of Obola.
Hmmmm...that is not a focus. That is babble. Based on that statement alone I view the Colonel's dismissal with suspicion.
The CIA never recovered from Jimmy Carter.
We should probably hold off on wearing our tin hats. Commanders have been relieved since the beginning of the Republic. I’ve served under some pretty scary commanders and wish they were relieved- and one was. It could easily be a “powdered prince” that got put in a position he was incapable to handling.
IMHO that is EXACTLY what they want to achieve.
I know commanders have been relieved since the founding, but Obama seems to rejoice in firing 4 star generals. He knows more they do about the military so they have to go. It’s a all game with him, mission effectiveness be damned.
A couple of months after Clinton was elected in 1993 a wing commander or it might have been a base commander was giving a commencement speech at an AF NCO Academy graduation and said he never thought he would live to see the day that a man was elected president who dodged the draft and protested against his own country overseas. He told the absolute truth but of course was fired the next day and made to put in his papers.
I had just retired from the Air Force and that was the big news for a couple of weeks. I’m glad I was retired when Clinton was elected. Without a doubt my mouth would have gotten me in a lot of trouble. I despised him then and I despise him now.
I regret this officers loss he sounded good to me but i’m not military. I also think there are a lot of good officers in the military. It’l take more than one Obama to purge them all out. and can they get reinstated by future commanders? Someone mentioned that an an allen west post.
The purge continues.....
“....purge of almost all of the expert experienced military leadership.”
.
As long as O is in the WH, the time is ripe for the jihadists to strike.
Oh well, Colonel’s pension is not bad, and he’s young enough to find something afterwards. I guess we’ll read more about this at militarycorruption.com. I hope it is not another sexual thing...lately these field grade officers have had a tough time keeping their pants zipped. Of course, when you introduce the romantic element onto the combat team things like that happen.
Another senior leader sacked. The purge of the military continues. How long will they sit by and allow this to go on?
The point of this article is correct and it should’ve been apparent to anyone following this issue for the past twenty years. You choose between your religious beliefs or military policy now: either embrace the sodomy or don’t.
The Gestapo LOVED Stalin —after they’d identified all the really good Soviet generals, all they had to do is put out word they’d been working with the guy, and POOF..!
He would disappear.
Soon ALL the top brass was Zampolit types —strictly political guys who didn’t know a think about the actual battlefield.
When the war started, it was a total catastrophe for the Soviets.
We’re seeing an American version of that, now.
Yes but the jihadists are too busy invading , er: immigrating into USA right now while The One has opened the borders to them (and we read he’s even spent a chunk of our tax money to subsidize their movement here). There will be plenty of time and opportunity for their attacks against us after they’re all in place within our cities and towns. Patience. Patience ( they’re getting in lots of practice attacking or disrupting us already on a number of college campuses, street wars or riots in NYC, ferguson, Oakland also reportedly have loads of them, etc.

And I was Army.
I was at Hahn for two years and Spang for two years. Our battalion was tasked with short range air defense for the three air bases in the region. While at Hahn, I usually spent every hour of tac evals in the Wing CP as the Army liaison officer, and unofficial Nuclear Biological and Chemical Officer...lol. I was handed that extra duty by the Wing Commander in the first hour of my first tac eval. His Captain overreacted on an input, and I offered an alternative that was well received. NBC officer was one of my extra duties at my battery. It was heady stuff for a butterbar.
Relieved six months in his command? I suspect the Wing Commander hurt some feelings.
