Its not a slowdown its a virtual work stoppage.
NYPD traffic tickets and summonses for minor offenses have dropped off by a staggering 94 percent following the execution of two cops as officers feel betrayed by the mayor and fear for their safety, The Post has learned.
The dramatic drop comes as Police Commissioner Bill Bratton and Mayor de Blasio plan to hold an emergency summit on Tuesday with the heads of the five police unions to try to close the widening rift between cops and the administration.
The unprecedented meeting is being held at the new Police Academy in Queens at 2 p.m., sources said.
Angry union leaders have ordered drastic measures for their members since the Dec. 20 assassination of two NYPD cops in a patrol car, including that two units respond to every call.

Just thinking about the dramatic drop in crime stats that de Blasio could tout for his RE election.
.
- 18% voted for Hitler
- 18% voted for DeBlasio
.
I won’t throw stones (yet) at Bratton, deBlasio should go immediately, but who would replace him? The next commie in line from the borough presidents?
New York Times Editorial today slams the NYPD for “Disrespecting” Deblasio (or whatever his real name is).
Basically, they are defending the Communist the other Commies at the Times helped to elect.
I have actually been to that underground range years ago. If I remember correctly, it's expensive. Of course it is. It's NYC. But if you are in NYC it doesn't matter because it's really just something to do for fun once or twice and then you move on to something else fun to do. There are better entertainment options that shooting. That's why people like it in NY.
So who’s up for New Years in Times Square this year?
Not me.
At last it's too cold for the return of the squeegee men!
I worked in NYC before Giuliani, and the difference he made was amazing. I had thought it would take at least as long for de Blasio to undo the progress that has been made as it took Giuliani to make the progress.
Maybe not.
(If de Blasio warned his son about the police, he better start warning his son about NYC situational awareness soon.)
“Just about everything you do in the city has a fee attached.”
On my last trip there I stayed at Midtown Hilton. With no room service at all my bill for one night was over $425 after all the add on and fees. The dang room did not even have a coffee machine. The next night I spent in Indianapolis at a Marriott Courtyard. The room was nicer, had a coffee machine, and was $79. Predatory pricing is another thing that bothers me about NYC.
Just watch the NYC homicide rate. It's hard to hide the bodies. Even for de Blasio.
Just catching up. The following is from the article:
“Citations for traffic violations fell by 94 percent, from 10,069 to 587, during that time frame.
Summonses for low-level offenses like public drinking and urination also plunged 94 percent from 4,831 to 300.
Even parking violations are way down, dropping by 92 percent, from 14,699 to 1,241”.
I don’t think that police who are angry with de Blasio have the right to stop doing their jobs while still getting paid. If you feel you like you can’t do your job under the current circumstances, the honorable thing to do is resign.
I never respected de Blasio, and now I am losing respect for the NYPD.
Wait...Sharpton has an all access pass to the mayors office? I mean seriously...is that true?
Only about 500$ a year.....
And they have a big notice on their sight how you can’t own OR rent a pistol in NY without a Handgun permit issued by NYPD.
And you only get to shoot .22 rifles.
No thanks
Literally? Don’t know.
Figuratively? Definitely. Oval Office too (there have been threads here with the visitor logs).
I could, sorta, see Jesse Jackson with that kind of access. I wouldn’t like it, but could see it. Sharpton’s a different matter entirely. The idea that the guy most responsible for the Tawana Brawley hoax, the Bensonhurst riots and Freddies Fashionmart has rehabbed himself into being granted that sort of access and power disgusts me.
LET THE PANTHERS PATROL!
Bratton has been a stooge for De Blasio.
Police deserve better.
The Public Advocate (which was De Blasio’s original position, IIRC, and is basically a community organizer job) is next in the line of succession. He or she is followed by the Comptroller.
The current Public Advocate is a youngish black woman named Letitia James, who actually seems fairly rational from time to time and even with her limited governmental experience would make a heck of a lot better mayor. Well, few could be worse...
Arrests drop 66%, what’s the crime rate doing?
Get a gun, quickly.
