In 2002, a year after not long before Trent Lott was driven from office in December of 2002, for his statements about support Strom Thurmond, Rep. Steve Scalise, now the number three Republican in the House of Representatives, went to a David Duke organized event.
How do you not know? How do you not investigate?
David Duke is the reasons I am no longer a resident of Louisiana. After supporting Edwin Edwards in the gubernatorial race against David Duke in 1991, I knew I had to get the hell out of a state where those were the two most popular choices.
I moved to Georgia to go to school and could only now consider moving back thanks to the hard work of Governor Bobby Jindal.
By 2002, everybody knew Duke was still the man he had claimed not to be. EVERYBODY.
How the hell does somebody show up at a David Duke organized event in 2002 and claim ignorance?
Trent Lott was driven from the field in 2001 for something less than this.
And the very GOP establishment now lining up behind Steve Scalise threw Chris McDaniel under the bus for speaking to a Sons of the Confederate Veterans event.

It’s actually much worse in Obama’s case than in Scalise’s.
Scalise can say he just showed up, gave his speech, and left, and never heard what the rest of the people there were talking about. Obama stuck around for years, lapping it up.
We need to have a Speaker race.
How do you announce your political career in a known killer terrorists living room?
He is the snake.
Good riddance !
If you prefer innuendo please yourself.
There is plenty hard news about what happened to Boehner’s mini-amnesty. Scalise turned it into an enforcement bill.
He is part of the Bonehead Chamber of Crony capitalist crowd.
He would not be in leadership otherwise under Bonehead and McCarthy .
So who are you trying to kid here ?
“We need to have a Speaker race.”
To my mind this is a sure sign we do have one: this story removes Scalise as a compromise choice to replace Boehner.
I hope Boehner has gone too far.
Read what the GOPe thinks of Scalise:

Or believe what you like.
I think it would be rather easy to show up at some of these events and not know who all the speakers are. I’ve shown up at plenty to have ten or fifteen people address the crowd. I know only a few names going in.
That is why I said not many of us would ever let up on some POS like Sharpton, and not Byrd either. He was also a POS. The Media may forgive these POSs, but not most of us. But then again, here is another angle. The Media may say that a$$ hats like Sharpton never need forgiveness, because blacks can't be racists, only whites can be racists.
Correct, or they will say he does not need any forgiveness.
If he had instead spoken to a meeting of black nationalists, that would have been fine.
Or maybe if he had attended a meeting of socialists who were about to decide that some US Senators needed to be assassinated, that would be a further qualification for office.

When will AL Sharpton get kicked out? Hoofington Post is a joke.
Scalise was originally a strong conservative. He, however, voted with Cassidy and Landrieu, for Obama’s “executive” amnesty in December.
How do you sit in a racist church every Sunday for twenty years and meet with the Pasture personally and never hear anything he said?
“He had to leave Louisiana because he didnt like its politicians? Thats taking political obsessions too far.”
It just looks like Erick Erickson parading some Politically Correct sensitivity for his pals to admire.
This sort of posturing is a big deal among ‘center-right’ media figures. While making a career out of being Establishment Conservatives they have the constant need to demonstrate to their liberal buddies that they aren’t nasty bigots like, you know, conservatives.
Erik Erickson is a mite weak on culture
Not arguing
But how do congressmen vote on executive orders and memorandums?
Yes...Scalise is GOPe muscle
The budget bill that Scalise, Cassidy, Landrieu, and Boustany supported had all that Obama wanted in it.
How do you show up at a David Duke event and not know what it is? Ummmm... you have the hood on backwards and can’t see?
