He has been called the superman pope, and it would be hard to deny that Pope Francis has had a good December. Cited by President Barack Obama as a key player in the thawing relations between the US and Cuba, the Argentinian pontiff followed that by lecturing his cardinals on the need to clean up Vatican politics. But can Francis achieve a feat that has so far eluded secular powers and inspire decisive action on climate change?
It looks as if he will give it a go. In 2015, the pope will issue a lengthy message on the subject to the worlds 1.2 billion Catholics, give an address to the UN general assembly and call a summit of the worlds main religions.
The reason for such frenetic activity, says Bishop Marcelo Sorondo, chancellor of the Vaticans Pontifical Academy of Sciences, is the popes wish to directly influence next years crucial UN climate meeting in Paris, when countries will try to conclude 20 years of fraught negotiations with a universal commitment to reduce emissions.
Our academics supported the popes initiative to influence next years crucial decisions, Sorondo told Cafod, the Catholic development agency, at a meeting in London. The idea is to convene a meeting with leaders of the main religions to make all people aware of the state of our climate and the tragedy of social exclusion.
Following a visit in March to Tacloban, the Philippine city devastated in 2012 by typhoon Haiyan, the pope will publish a rare encyclical on climate change and human ecology. Urging all Catholics to take action on moral and scientific grounds, the document will be sent to the worlds 5,000 Catholic bishops and 400,000 priests, who will distribute it to parishioners.

So, you refuse to address the issue of Moses and Elijah?
How so? You think John isn’t in heaven as well? Who to believe, the bloated Catholic view of Mary, or the words of the Lord? Tough choice.
1.China just said it could put the electric grid of the USA out of existence.
Did Yeshua show after his resurrection?
Moses and Elijah were present in spirit by Yehova’s command.
Mary (the real one, not the demon spirit that answers her prayers) rests in the bosom of Abraham.

We want Benedict back.
yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
I agree. Don’t leave the Church because of the Pope...if anybody’s leaving, it’s going to be the Pope, IMHO.
I’m not sure the Pope is completely heretical - I think he’s a silly, vain man who loves power and is being cultivated by the enemies of the Church, mostly by the media.
He claims he doesn’t like interviews but he gives them all the time, and he was the most interviewed public figure of 2014. Power and celebrity have gone to his head.
Who knows what’s going to happen or why it has fallen to us to live through these times? Just pray and hang onto Our Lord and wait it out. And beg Our Lady to help us all.
He said no MAN born of woman was greater than John.
It doesn’t matter as its all about change, or no change, to the evil left. They wait for an acorn to hit them in the head and take off running proclaiming doom to advance the agenda. Usually they shake the tree to begin with.
>> “yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.” <<
.
And who is in the Kingdom of Heaven?
Yehova, his son Yeshua, and the angels.
Read John 3:13 to see who else. (No man)

The warming he will have is eternal
As noted in Apologetics Press:

For Jesus statement to contradict what the Bible says about Elijah, one first must presuppose that Jesus was referring to the exact same place to which Elijah ascended. For a contradiction to exist between two Bible passages, one must prove that the one doing the speaking (or writing) is referring to the same person, place, or thing
Again from Apologetics Press:
John 3:13. Here, the apostle John recorded Jesus as having said to Nicodemus, No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man (John 3:13).
My commentary:
Christ’s statement to Nicodemus preceded His Resurrection and the opening of the gates of Heaven.
The “opening of the gates of Heaven” is catholic nonsense, not to be found in the scriptures.
All who will ever be resurrected will be resurrected at the last trump. That is what the word of God says.
.
And where are Elijah and Moses now?
Would you care for a Scriptural reference?
Well, I’ll be darn!
A Protestant who believes in Purgatory!
Elijah escaped physical death and went up by a whirlwind into heaven (2 Kings 2:11; cf. Genesis 5:24; Hebrews 11:5),
