POPE: UN MUST FIGHT 'GLOBAL WARMING'
the guardian ^ | 12/27/14 | j vidal

He has been called the “superman pope”, and it would be hard to deny that Pope Francis has had a good December. Cited by President Barack Obama as a key player in the thawing relations between the US and Cuba, the Argentinian pontiff followed that by lecturing his cardinals on the need to clean up Vatican politics. But can Francis achieve a feat that has so far eluded secular powers and inspire decisive action on climate change?

It looks as if he will give it a go. In 2015, the pope will issue a lengthy message on the subject to the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics, give an address to the UN general assembly and call a summit of the world’s main religions.

The reason for such frenetic activity, says Bishop Marcelo Sorondo, chancellor of the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy of Sciences, is the pope’s wish to directly influence next year’s crucial UN climate meeting in Paris, when countries will try to conclude 20 years of fraught negotiations with a universal commitment to reduce emissions.

“Our academics supported the pope’s initiative to influence next year’s crucial decisions,” Sorondo told Cafod, the Catholic development agency, at a meeting in London. “The idea is to convene a meeting with leaders of the main religions to make all people aware of the state of our climate and the tragedy of social exclusion.”

Following a visit in March to Tacloban, the Philippine city devastated in 2012 by typhoon Haiyan, the pope will publish a rare encyclical on climate change and human ecology. Urging all Catholics to take action on moral and scientific grounds, the document will be sent to the world’s 5,000 Catholic bishops and 400,000 priests, who will distribute it to parishioners.

“Greater than” the Mother of God?

Or, do you deny the dual nature of Christ?

True God and True Man!

I don’t understand his interest in this issue. However, it is unlikely that I will ever be Pope. Mes regrets.

Ask Galileo Galilei and Giordano Bruno among others what happens if you think the Earth is not the center of the universe. At least they were not THE SPANISH INQUISITION!

“Greater than” the Mother of God?

Mary's Son made that statement about John the Baptist being greater than any born of woman. Matt 11:11

Or does the catholic church deliberately misunderstand the nature of Yeshua?

Human boy, born of human Woman, with the eternal spirit of God.

From his spirit comes his divinity, not from his decidedly non-deity mother. Mary provided the body, and his spirit is eternal, with no mother.

Here we go again with the Goddess/Demon worship.

Won't you guys ever get this matter in perspective.

Mary, mother of Jesus, is surely the most wonderful woman ever born.

But that is not who you are praying to in the Rosary.

You are elevating the Goddess above our Lord.

Go ahead...kiss her cloven feet.

YOU are going to tell me who I am praying to?!?!

You are an idiot!

The Rosary does NOT “elevate Mary above Christ”!

In it, we ask her to Pray to Christ for us.

But then, you’ve never asked anyone to pray for you......

So you DO deny the dual nature of Christ.

He is not some “thing” for you to divide in two.

Well yes, Larry, I am an idiot.

That said, I follow Christ's advice as to how to pray.

He does not tell me to pray to His mother or any other dead humans.

"Out Father, who art in Heaven...Hallowed by thy name..."

I see you are capable of only reading half a verse, for purposes of missing the point.

Matt. 11:11
“Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.”

But then, you’ve never asked anyone to pray for you....

Actually, Larry, I don't ask people to pray for me.

I pray to my Creator...He hears me and answers.

I have a direct relationship with Him...just as He told us we would.

Try it...He is waiting for you.

Capable of reading? Has the second half of the verse changed the first? John the Baptist and Mary were both alive at the time. JTB preceded Mary in death. John the Baptist WAS greater than Mary. At two different times as well. While both were alive and while she still lived.

God has no mother.

The mother of Yeshua’s earthly flesh and blood body is not the mother of God. That body is gone; he now has a spiritual body that has no mother, as will all of Yehova’s elect when they are changed at the Last Trump.

So you’ve never asked anyone to pray for you?

I am a dead man walking. I have died unto the Lord.

He lives in my heart and soul and mind and body. Why would I ask anyone to pray for me when my Lord lives in me?

He loves me no more than He loves you, Larry. I suspect He already lives in your heart, etc.

If you are one with Him...who would you pray to but Him?

God bless you Larry...you are on the precipice of the wonderful Holy Divide.

Take that step...it isn't a matter of denomination.

It is just about Him...and He loves you immeasurably.

Did Moses and Elijah appear before Christ and Peter?

Were they less “dead” at the time than Mary is now?

The second half changes your assertion the John “is” greater than Mary.

Larry: The only thing that stands next for you is prayer to Him directly.

Ask Him and keep asking Him until He answers.

He will...He always does.

Bypass Mary and go to Him directly...

Ask HIM.
