LOS ANGELES (AP) While tens of thousands of immigrants living in the United States illegally are preparing to apply for a long-sought driver's license in California starting Jan. 2, others are being urged to think twice.
Immigrant advocates say the vast majority should be able to get licenses without trouble, but they want anyone who previously obtained a driver's license under a false name or someone else's Social Security number to speak first with a lawyer, fearing a new application could trigger a fraud investigation.
The same applies to immigrants with a prior deportation order or criminal record because federal immigration officials and law enforcement can access Department of Motor Vehicles data during an investigation.

I expect they will give them immunity for any illegal licenses and SSN’s they may have had in the past, it is after all Kalifornication, this comment is not /s!
Think about that the next time you're standing in line at the DMV.
Separate but equal?
Funny, I was suggesting that we should spread the words that obola’s amnesty is a tool to draw them out to be deported.
Now they are warning the illegals of fraud investigation, blah blah blah.
Unless there is absolutely no law in USA, the lawless will get what they deserve after all!
You forgot that the DMV is Sending Drivers License records to the Franchise Tax Board to match up against TAX RETURNS. If you can afford a License to Drive, Insurance, and a car, then You Have Committed TAX FRAUD and we are coming after you.
I’m glad they don’t know this, but the all Democrat Congress have only illegals a three time pass on document fraud (no joke). You or I old be in trouble. Unequal extra rights for illegal aliens.
Isn’t that as racist as requiring an ID to vote - tends to deter those with something to hide from claiming “their just dues”...
bump
I want every reason to throw every one of their illegal ass’ out of our Country!
And the best part, imagine 1-million more cars in LA, at 8am, and 4pm.
Well, yes there certainly is that aspect too! It really is a conundrum (e.g., wanting them to be afraid and leave on their own while at the same time wanting them to give us every means to track them down). :0)
Maybe that would be a good tactic. Give them a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” choice...
