What’s cool about this city is that crap like this can go on here and you don’t even notice it.

So then the size and number of people in the city dwarf the number of demonstrators.

Well, he’s stepped in it now. The minute he asked for a moratorium on protests, he set himself up. Failure to act, is another slap in the face to the NYPD.

Your remark made me curious and I searched it out, apparently “alternet” did come out with an article, maybe a few others published it too. I won’t link to it.

I did a bing.com search of “every hours a black is shot by a police officer” (or security officer-type)<-— so you will find it this way.

One of the comments said the data they were using was skewed. Think they took some year and were saying 313 blacks were shot by police, etc.

They are CPUSA, Communists or of that ilk.

I didn’t care much for the movie Hoover but they did have a scene from about 1920 and the Communists rioted in Chicago, I looked it up and indeed it happened and it was a pretty bad riot.

NY Cops should let the protesters know - you own the streets for the next 72 hours. We will stand down.

See what Red Bill has to say then.

NYPD should make a PSA, basically saying that they could not guarantee the safety of tourists to NYC, because it would be considered racist to do so.

They don’t have the right to force others to hear them against their will.

Sounds about right and goes along with the “hands up, don’t shoot” agenda. Whatever it takes to stir the pot. Unfortunately, the exaggerations and skewed data has led to the death of two men and probably more in the near future.

Hire a punk mayor and a punk president who take orders from a punk race baiter MSNBC hack and this is what you get. Dead law enforcement officers.

I agree with you... if they're NOT violent, blocking traffic or breaking other laws they should be able to protest.

Here's a question for you... If a few hundred frat boys were 'protesting' women - and shouting the slogan 'Stupid women - rape 'em'... then a few days later some frat boys came down to New York and raped two women - violently - and both died - would you be quite as open minded? Especially if the new frat boy protest included new rape slurs against women? Or if one of the Frat leaders insisted on going to the home of one of the women who died... and talking to the family before going back and defending rapists?

But that said, if they're NOT blocking traffic or breaking the law - both groups should be allowed to protest. I'm ever so confident the New York Times would be equally understanding.../s

That’s a good question...when does using your first amendment rights to speech and peaceable assembly cross over into barging in on other’s right not to be molested? Maybe they can charge them with some excessive noise violation.

Marching in a street and in a park without a permit is against the law in NYC. They have at least broken these laws without arrest.
