NASA has just finished building a $350 million test facility in Gulfsport, La., despite the program it was designed for having been canceled nearly four years ago.
In other news:
Snow is cold
Water is wet
The Pope is still Catholic (?)
Happens all the time in government aerospace/aviation projects.
Lots of developmental or proof of concept projects are cancelled after they’ve started.
...and how could you ever get a decent bid if you had to put in a cancellation clause for those big money government jobs??!!!
If the private sector had to pay the inflated rates we pay for govt. construction, it would tank the economy. Private contractors are about half what govt. contractors are.
Congress and the POTUS spent the money, but they made NASA take the fall.
Could be, but that wasn’t my point.
Gov’t contracts can and do get cancelled...no reason why many of the white elephants that are contracted couldn’t be cancelled either.
The real problem lies in the budget “process” as it is in DC.
All one has to do is look at fiscal spending and what happens starting in July-August of every fiscal year...”SPEND IT ALL OR WE WON’T GET THE SAME OR MORE MONEY NEXT YEAR!!!!”
A damned waste is what it is...and it starts in DC.
But do Muslims have highest self-esteem? That’s all that matters.
