25 years ago, I used to have spirited debates with a black co-worker about crap like this.
He always told me: “You just don’t know what it’s like to be black”.
To which, I responded: “Yes... and you just don’t know what it’s like to be white”.
EVERY bad thing that happens to them, they assume it’s racism.... I’ve had people assume I was a worker in a store, I’ve had people ask me if I was a valet at a restaurant... I’ve also actually BEEN a valet at a restaurant. BIG DEAL?
And, you know what??? SOMETIMES, I have a hard time getting a taxi!!! Shocking...I know. And, no... I’m not black, and I don’t wear my pants at my knees.
They walk through life LOOKING for any excuse to yell “racism”. Well, many of them do. The successful ones have found ways to overcome the normal challenges of like.
True story -
I once handed the keys to a 55 y.o. white man - waiting for his BMW (not yet on scene).
He was wearing shorts, a fleece vest, and running shoes. His wife lit into him, telling him about how she told him to dress more properly for dinner.
I really felt for him...for about 2 seconds.
It was like a scene from Seinfeld.
Some years ago I was in a sporting goods store, and I needed some help. I saw a well-dressed man swinging a golf club and went over to ask him a question. The guy responded "I don't work here" with a little anger in his voice. That wasn't you was it? If so, sorry.
“Valet” is above his pay grade.
You have it 110% right. I, a WHITE male stand a tiny bit over 6’5”. I cannot go into the supermarket without at least once reaching UP to get something from the TOP shelf for an average size person.
What sometimes bothers me is that short GUYS will often thank me quicker than a short (you know).

I have three or four stories about blacks being jerks and how “I” was the victim... I’m sure others can drag out a few stories... let’s do a pity party and get down with those who blame everyone but themselves for everything...
