Texas Senator Ted Cruz is reminding Americans that no civilized nation should ever torture prisoners.
Torture is wrong, unambiguously. Period. The end. Civilized nations do not engage in torture and Congress has rightly acted to make absolutely clear that the United States will not engage in torture, Cruz said during the Q-and-A portion of a speech at the Heritage Foundation.

Well, bye.
I beg to differ.
Those camel jockeys declared war on us, in 1993.
They killed 3000 Americans on 9/11, including a few friends of mine, who were in the pits, made famous in “Trading Places’.
Their ‘esteemed religion’ belongs in the 7th Century, so I forward the motion to put every last one of them, there, in past tense.
By their very actions, they do not behave civilized.
It is not the time, nor the place, to attempt to use Western diplomacy, when all they need is obliteration.
Funny we know about this event but Bin Laden’s post mortem photos have never been released.
You're either terminally naive, or trolling - perhaps both.
In any case, it's tiresome, and transparently obtuse.
LOL
Im with him. Instead of the penny ante terrorist whack a mole, we should go “USA America classic” on their sponsors. And yes, they do have sponsors. 90% of this crap comes from the Saudis.
They need see mecca get nuked. And we should declare total war on any nation that gives them a penny or a nights rest.
Thank you, tomkat.
Strange days...
That sums it up perfectly C. Good God what has happened to people for ‘em to get this ‘limp’? I will agree with your “thankful” point also. (My remaining family would tie me to a Ponderosa Pine Tree up here and ‘torture’ me if I ever voiced such ‘give up’ attitudes or thoughts when it comes to possibly saving their lives.....and I did not give it all I had.
That they are, ma’am, that they are.
This “civilized” bullcrap is just that. These nitwits seem to think a hypocritical moral high ground wins conflicts, and somehow makes “us” better, blah, blah, blah. These are the same dupes who love steaks but try to strictly regulate man’s inhumanity to cattle and hogs. The same dupes who enjoy leather but again, despise those who raise and process animal hides. These are the same dupes who look the other way for abortion, yet wanna give rights to savage koranimals. You torture and savagely kill us, we’ll torture and savagely kill you right back. Period.
Paraphrasing, he said torture was not being able to sleep because you continually see your loved one jumping from the World Trade Center to escape the fire.
Dittos to that! All of it.
He's right, if we know they are planning another 9/11, we should use enhanced interrogation and if that doesn't work, torture.
This is stupid, we can't use enhanced interrogation to get information, but the liberals don't have any trouble with drone strikes that kill innocent people and don't allow us to get life saving information.
Sorry you are unable to simply credit the words “right “ and “wrong “ without somehow wanting to obscure the difference. I think Cruz gave the right answer. Not because I don’t care about my loved ones or wouldn’t take extreme measures to protect them or any of the other outlandish fictions that have been created here, but because torturing another human being is wrong. It might be justified but it’s still wrong.
I consider the torture debate a non-issue. A waste of time. Nothing but politics.
Disappointing. They wouldn’t hesitate to torture you, Ted. You can count on having your head sawn off with a dull blade after they are finished playing with you. These are demon possessed barbarians. Why should they be given an ounce of consideration?
btw: in light of this thread, your tagline seems especially silly.
Nice straw man you have there, shame if something happened to it.
You are the one getting thumped big time on this thread by everyone else, not me.
The eighth amendment does not apply to non-citizens (and neither do any of the other amendments.) Try again.
