Police in Beloit, Wisconsin, want residents to volunteer to let officers search their homes for firearms as part of a new initiative that officials believe will help reduce gun violence.
Beloit Police Chief Norm Jacobs told Wisconsin Public Radio that officers will mostly be looking for guns in homes that residents might not even be aware of. Thats really what were looking for. Maybe well find a toy gun thats been altered by a youngster in the house and we know the tragedies that can occur there on occasion, he added.
Jacobs also told WPR that gun violence is as serious as the Ebola virus. The home searches, he argued, are similar to a vaccine to strengthen the citys immune system, the report stated.
That being said, the police chief admitted he isnt anticipating a stampede of residents eager to have their homes searched.
In 2014, there have reportedly been seven gun-related homicides in Beloit. Most have victims have been teenagers or men in their 20s.
Well I stand corrected and thanks for the information.
I seriously have ever known a small department chief who wore four stars to ever be worth more than a bucket of warm spit. Four stars? Order those in the mail? How many three stars report to you? Any other officers on the force? A couple of captains? Then here, wear major insignia. You will still out rank them.
Prepping the city for the police state.
Next thing is, they’ll consider everyone who doesn’t volunteer to be suspicious and be put on their list.
They should just let the gene pool clear itself out.
Dear Chief Jacobs,
HELL NO!
Quite sincerely,
‘Pod.
But it’s important that you know how to use one.
I don’t fire often, but when I do...
Ping
Guy looks like a retarded freak.
That uniform in four sizes too big for him. He’s either an
anorectic, or he has cancer and went through chemo.
If he did, his brain is in no shape for him to be violating
the Constitution with his silly, backward way of “ending
gun violence.”
Excuse me, Norm. You do know that law-abiding citizens
are not the cause of gun violence? Right? Criminals and
other murderers are the perps, not 90% of the citizenry.
Let us hope that they aren’t stupid enough to do this
I had a friend concieve of a really good hiding place for one of his pistols, and when he sobered up he couldn’t find it. This would have been a useful service for him. Otherwise, not so much.
MORON LABE
Fat chance, buddy boy.
Too many wedgies and swirlies, methinks.
