DETROIT -- Lions running back Reggie Bush, who has been outspoken about the protests in Ferguson, Missouri, continued his outspoken nature Sunday when he wore a shirt reading "I Can't Breathe" during pregame warm-ups Sunday.
Bush wrote the message -- in black ink on his blue shirt -- signifying the last words of Eric Garner, the New York man who died while being placed in a chokehold as he was being arrested.
Bush wore the shirt a day after Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose wore an "I Can't Breathe" T-shirt in pregame warm-ups prior to his team's game Saturday night against the Golden State Warriors.
He wasn't the only NFL player to display the message Sunday. Cleveland Browns cornerback Johnson Bademosi warmed up in a shirt with the message and St. Louis Rams offensive lineman Davin Joseph wore the message on his cleats.
Earlier this week, a grand jury said it would not indict the officer who was shown on tape choking Garner.

Maybe they should write...”A black female sergeant was in charge” on their shirt.
Can’t breathe, Won’t do crime.
Why, is Reggie an over-weight asthmatic?
If he can’t breathe, believe him and bench him w/o pay. See if that makes him catch his breath.
Wasn't the perp selling illegal cigarettes?
Screw these overpaid gladiators.
Oh, is this the Reggie Bush that was disgraced and had to give back his Heisman trophy when it came to light that USC bought his parents a house? That Reggie Bush?
Selling cigarettes as an end-run around New York's insane tobacco taxes. Oh, the horror...
Is it time to pull the NFL monopoly? How about a league that just plays football?
I can’t protest at work. I would get sent home or fired. These people are at the office. Just play ball. Do whatever on your own time.
Who cares? Just another ignorant individual.
Reggie Bush and family ever apologize to the University of Southern California for getting USC in a world of hurt with the NCAA?
That's why he's no good this year? (191 yds rushing)
I have asthma. If a cop choked me, I would probably be dead pretty quickly.
I despise the left harnessing this real problem of Homeland insecurity’s National police training to deal with terrorists in war tactics, with solutions that will instill race hate, kill cops and a lot more innocent citizens.
They created the problem and now offer a solution. Better to sexually molest a bunch of people at the airport, than to behave and think like an occupying force in Iraq dealing with terrorists.
It should say: “I’m fat. I can’t breath.”
Must be from when that huuuuge Kardashian @ss sat on him
OK, I just heard on the news that he was saying, “I can’t breed!”
Yeah and he didn’t do crap in the game. Instant karma.
And nobody made him turn the shirt inside-out?
