If you want to hit ‘em out a bit faster, I’m out of “extras”. Takes me about 3 minutes to load and preview each one. Just so ya know. :)

YOUR HIT PARADE, 1941
#5 Woody Herman: Blue Flame Woodrow Charles Herrman (1913-87) was a Milwaukee boy. His father had a deep love of show business, and this influenced Woody as a child. He worked as a singer and tap-dancer in vaudeville, then started to play the clarinet and saxophone by age 12. He joined the Tom Gerun band, then the Harry Sosnick orchestra, Isham Jones, the man who broke Stardust and a successful popular song writer, wanted to live off the royalties of his songs, and Woody saw the chance to lead Jones band, which he did when Jones retired.
Woody's first band became known for its orchestrations of the blues and was billed as "The Band That Plays The Blues". The legendary George Simon: "This Herman outfit bears watching; not only because it's fun listening to in its present stages, but also because its bound to reach even greater stages."
After the war, Woody Hermans career was to last for four decades, and some of the greatest jazz musicians of the era passed through his band. Along with Duke Ellington, he was one of the most important musicians in jazz.
This song is pure blues.

She smoked and knew the risks. At least she lived long enough to see her grandchildren.
