I never thought I'd be an open-carry advocate.
However, I'm a firm believer in working within the American political system in order to change the status quo. If the Second Amendment is cherished by millions of Americans, then why not use it to further certain liberal ideals? Protecting African-American lives and alleviating tensions between the black community and law enforcement should be a top priority of all Americans and especially Congress; however, this is not the case. It speaks volumes that African-Americans vote over 90 percent Democrat during national elections, yet our future nominee in 2016 still hasn't addressed an issue the whole nation is talking about, even after Darren Wilson's acquittal and the flames that engulfed Ferguson.

I do not believe this should go without comments from our membership...
I saw where there were armed Black men protecting White & Minority businesses in Furguson.
Many black men cannot carry due to being felons.
Oh no! Environmentalist wackos and the gay marriage crowd running around with guns. Ungood. You'll shoot your eye out moron.
So that means that H.A. Goodman opposes the Black Genocide of abortion, right?
Gun control was first enacted by Southern Democrats after the Civil War to keep blacks from shooting back when the KKK branch of the Democrat party had a lynching party.
Seriously.
I have absolutely no problem with blacks or anybody else carrying, the more the merrier as far as I’m concerned. However personally I would advise carrying concealed, as there is far less risk of accidents or the gun being grabbed in a confrontation. If you have it concealed, you know were it is in case you need it, while the threat you face does not.
I’m going to do the world a great big favor and withhold my opinion as to what would happen if “Blacks” openly carried guns.
Notice how the need to divide “people” into groups is absolutely irresistable?
Dies anyone want pot heads, like Michael Brown, carrying a gun?
Don't worry about that. Come 20 JAN 2017, all blacks will have voting rights and firearm rights restored via Presidential pardon for "Eric Holder's people"....
...at least at the federal level.
Most certainly, presuming he had a legal weapon. That presumption is quite a leap, however.
“white skin has never correlated to suspicion in our country.”
That is because white people don’t commit crimes greatly in disproportionate to their numbers. 65% of murders are committed by blacks and 95% of those murders are against other blacks. And the vast majority of those are by inner city black men raised in the project on welfare and without a father.
I have less problems with someone on pot with a gun than someone who has alcohol in his system.
I decided this morning that 'common-sense' is hateful and is now code for Conservative.
I would be more than happy to see all upstanding (non-felon) black citizens carrying. Law abiding people need to dissuade thugs from engaging in their nefarious activities.
Take back your communities.
So Michael Brown should’ve SHOT the officer?
That would’ve turned out the same (he already went for the officer’s gun).
I wonder if the author realizes that he is advocating the original mission statement of the NRA. His position is precisly why the NRA was founded....
I doubt it, instead he is likely a purposefully ignorant useful idiot.
Epic fail on so many levels....
You’re better off telling your “bro’s” to behave and treat others with dignity & RESPECT than to carry guns around, gaining nothing but scorn from everybody else (including cops).
“Notice how the need to divide people into groups is absolutely irresistable?”
So long as you state the obvious!
