Zionist group awed by Ted Cruz’s support for Israel

NEW YORK — Say what you will about Ted Cruz. The senator does his homework.

More than a few heads nodded approval at last Sunday night’s Zionist Organization of America dinner when Cruz noted that the Hebrew month of Kislev had just begun.

“The month of Hanukkah, a month of miracles,” Cruz went on, recalling the Maccabees’ victory over an oppressive Greek king back in the day. “The few defeated the many. The righteous defeated the unrighteous.”

A few jaws went slightly agape. This Cuban-American tea partier, son of an evangelical minister — he knows from Kislev and the Festival of Lights?

Among the Zionist crowd, Cruz was already well loved for being staunchly pro-Israel, and very tough on Iran, Hamas, the Palestinians and especially Barack Obama. Dayenu, as Jews say on another holiday, Passover, as they list the miracles that delivered their ancestors from Pharoah. It means, that would have been enough.

“He’s aligned with the Jewish people. He’s aligned with the Jewish calendar. He understands Jewish history. He understands that Jews, even though they have small numbers, persevere and are victorious,” Len Getz, a Philadelphia accountant and board member of the Zionist group, said after Cruz’s speech. “Because God is on Israel’s side. He understands that.”

Cruz drew a huge ovation as he recounted an episode two months earlier that many in the crowd had already seen on video: when Cruz walked out on a group of Christian Arabs who booed and heckled his pro-Israel stance.

The day before that appearance, a news report revealed that the summit’s underwriter had backed a Lebanese politician allied with Hezbollah, the terrorist group. Cruz recounted Sunday night that he scrapped his schedule to spend four or five hours debating with aides whether to back out of the appearance. He decided to go ahead, to shine a spotlight on

Yes, Christians support the literal land of Israel.

Why the surprise?

I hope and pray that my co-religionists will FINALLY understand that the Left - and particularly B. HUSSEIN Obama - is against Israel and wishes its destruction. Putting 2 and 2 together maybe, just maybe, they will understand that without a strong Israel present in this world, they themselves will be in far greater damage.

Like I said, I’m hoping and praying - because at least 70% of them don’t have a clue, politically speaking.

Cruz by a landslide in 2016!

Here’s how it plays out with respect to 100% of the electorate:

24% Republican base (26% of electorate)
4% Reagan Democrats, Perot Blue Collars (5% of electorate)
26% Independents (40% of electorate)
3% Latino (7% of electorate)

57% realistic estimate. The big news is the Independents. In 2012 they were 24% of the electorate; today 40% to 42%. Voters have left both GOP and Democrat parties in droves and have registered as Independents. Cruz carries them by 2/3’s.

Cruz also takes half of Latino vote (he won 40% in Texas and they are warming to him).

The wild card is the illegal vote which can be substantial and critical in battleground states. In the final analysis it will be about counting Electoral College Votes and the deployment of illegal database assets to the critical states for the EC votes.

Conceivable that Cruz could win the popular vote by a substantial margin yet lose the EC. In which case the Left will be grinning that it’s payback for Florida in 2000.

Important then is to stop Obama’s illegal Executive Amnesty implementation because it has the potential to add at least several million votes to democrat column.

:Sigh:

It still surprises me at how many Devout Jews seem to think that evangelicals are uneducated and ignorant about Judaism.

I learned about Hanukkah when I was about six or seven. Judaism was the first religion I learned about aside from my birth religion of Christianity.

Please get to know us, we don't bite, honest! And politically you will find us firmly in your corner.

What’s wrong being a senator? I mean, why president? We don’t need another idealogue form either spectrum in the White HOuse. We need someone with a track record of running a business or a state with military background.

I’m tired of Senators running for president. He’s not presidential timber. He has the appearance of a wuss.

Don’t get me wrong, I stand for square behind everything he says, and I stayed up late watching him is a brilliant filibuster, but I’d like to see him uniting us rather than dividing us.

I’d like to see him “lead” and not just criticize and polarize.

We need to unite our party... and bring in new people.

He’s a great senator, but not presidential.

He’s a great senator, but not presidential.

Only someone shilling for a different candidate would say such things. Who is it? Paul, Walker? Christie?

When Cruz runs, if Walker also runs and you prefer him, fine. Explain why. Wuss doesn't cut it as a reason, and is demonstrably false.

With respect Sir, how can you be “four square behind everything he says” but then conclude with “he’s not presidential” AND is not a leader and he is a divider and a polarizer?

Cruz is presently my first choice for POTUS. From what I've read, he seems to truly get it where the Constitution is concerned. This is of primary importance to me. I worry about where he'd ultimately come down regarding illegals, but otherwise I'm good with him.

That said, I like Walker as well. He's been shown to be a strong executive who can stand up against the strongest flaming liberal groups in his state. I wouldn't mind at all to see Cruz remain in the Senate to be a strong advocate of conservative policies. A conservative president is going to need that kind of support, especially with so many CINOs about.

Also, I really like being able to go to a voting booth and vote for someone rather than just against someone. Cruz has given me that opportunity here in Texas, and I am thankful for it.
