ABOARD THE PAPAL PLANE (Reuters) - Pope Francis said on Sunday that equating Islam with violence was wrong and called on Muslim leaders to issue a global condemnation of terrorism to help dispel the stereotype.

Francis, the leader of 1.2 billion Roman Catholics, told reporters aboard his plane returning from a visit to Turkey that he understood why Muslims were offended by many in the West who automatically equated their religion with terrorism.

Francis' predecessor, Benedict XVI, caused storms of protest throughout the Islamic world in 2006, when he made a speech that suggested to many Muslims that he believed Islam espoused violence. ...

Robin of Kingston says it’s wrong to equate Pope with common sense.

“I think a lot of Catholics will leave and become Christian then,”

Or they can be Christians right where they are, in the Catholic church. Just because they have a socialist leader doesn’t mean they have to leave the church.

No, I’m not Catholic.

I wonder how many burnt effigies and murders there’ll be just because the “vicar of Christ” suggested there might be a link. From the time Papa made that statement to the time it hit the presses, Probably 1,000 people were murdered in the name of Islam. I'm thankful this Pope has come around to show faithful, sincere people that popery is irrelevant.

I’m still awaiting this pope’s condemnation of Darren Wilson’s exoneration. It’s coming. I guarantee it.

The pope sits in a room with a bag of marbles, each one has a bumper sticker slogan on it.
But there are treats in there as well and sometimes he picks the treat, a chocolate
covered Peanut. A glorious day when the pope gets the treat of a Chocolate Covered Peanut.

To bad he only gets to pick one from the bag per day.
His Handlers stand guard over the bag. The Nut guard.

Here is the way I see it:

Muslims are at war with atheist in Russia.

Muslims are at war with Hindus in Cashmere, India.

Muslims are at war with Buddhist in Asia.

Muslims are at war with Jews in Israel.

Muslims are at war with Christians everywhere.

And when they are not at war with others, Muslims are at war with Muslims.

The world would be a lot more peaceful, if they were a ROP.

Show me that they are peaceful, don’t tell me. Until then, I don’t have to believe the BS.

Maybe I am wrong, but that is the way I see it and I am not changing my opinion until I see otherwise.

Islam is a filthy pedophile religion based on a murderous and lying prophets. Of course Pope Francis cannot say this.

If it is the truth, the Pope has a DUTY to say it. He is a coward and just another PC socialist pretender, elected by a bunch of PC socialist pretenders.

I agree. The deeper we sink in the sea of depravity, the less respected, and so also the less feared we are to Islam.

Our culture is a cesspool of depravity and wickedness, and most people want to take their clothes off and dive in.

Our unrestrained depravity is at the root of our Nations fecklessness and folly.

It’s a shame that people here are tarring the reputations of a few good Muslims by emphasizing the actions of many. *sigh*

Dear Pope,

The Islamists would like to kill you. You’re are free to say anything you want, but the Islamists want you dead.

Why not? I should think that it’s part of his job description to say it.

> Nor do political leaders say this.

That’s because they’re cowards, panderers, and cynical bastards.

god rules heaven. he is in charge, on Earth, of those who obey Him, everyone else, though He created them, if they reject His teaching, and His will, are on their own. This Pope is right for our time, as it is whom the bishops chose.

Finally, a consistent RC. Conservative evangelicals are censured for relying on unchanging Scripture as our supreme standard since it is subject to interpretation, and instead we are told we need a church to lead and define things for us, under a supreme pope whom they look to for leadership.

Then the interpretation begins. They debate how many binding teachings there are, as well as their meaning. Conservatives interpret past historical teachings as being contrary to how their church interprets it in modern V2 teaching, while liberals interpret the latter as supporting them.

They thus look to lower levels of the magisterium to interpret them, which is manifest in word and in deed, and each side interprets the non-infallible words and actions of the pope as being consistent or inconsistent with church teaching.

And while one side trusts that Christ's promise to lead and preserve the church means that the bishops choice for a pope is that of the Holy Spirit's, others deny that.

And as RCs in general are conditioned to look to men as the supreme authority for their faith, so they follow men, which can mean even torturing fellow RCs in obedience to the pope, or taking part in interfaith prayer meetings with Prots as per papal interpretation of modern church interpretation of past teaching.

With the overall fruit of Rome being manifestly libeal, versus those who hold most strongly to the fundamental Reformation view of holding Scripture as the wholly inspired authoritative and accurate word of God.

Christians must stand with the unchanging transcendent supreme standard for obedience and testing and establishing truth claims as the wholly Divinely inspired and assured, Word of God. As it is abundantly evidenced to be.

And which testifies (Lk. 24:27,44, etc.) to writings of God being recognized and established as being so (essentially due to their unique and enduring heavenly qualities and attestation), and thus they materially provide for a canon of Scripture (as well as for reason, the church, etc.).
