The busiest shopping day of the year also saw a major boom for gun sales, with the federal background check system expected to set a record of more than 144,000 background checks Friday, according to the FBI.
The staggering number of checks -- an average of almost three per second, nearly three times the daily average -- falls on the shoulders of 600 FBI and contract call center employees who will endure 17-hour workdays in an attempt to complete the background reviews in three business days, as required by law, FBI spokesman Stephen Fischer said.
"Traditionally, Black Friday is one of our busiest days for transaction volume," Fischer said.
On average, more than 500 gun background checks a day fail because of incomplete information required for a decision, according to the FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System, which is responsible for checks on firearm purchases from federally licensed shops.
Officials estimate that about 3,000, or 2%, of the more than 144,000 Black Friday background checks will not be completed because of insufficient information from records such as court documents....

And 2.3% of these were for Hi-Point products.
This is great. The more law-abiding American citizens who own guns the happier and more secure I am and feel.
I bought a Hi-Point .45 a couple of years ago simply because it was so cheap. I haven’t shot it much, but it works and is reasonably accurate. I doubt it would have a very long life if shot a lot, but for $145, it was a deal.
The Los Altos Rod & Gun Club, 40 miles south of SF, was mobbed yesterday. 100, 50, 20 yd, tin can ranges, every lane was occupied.
I gat a couple of gun catalogs lately, and they’re having a lot of sales. Still can’t get the powder I want, and am tired of clerks laughing at me when I ask for it.
Something simple to read and pass on to those acquaintances of freepers that get all their news from MSM:
13 Facts About Ferguson the Media Will Never Tell You
According to protesters who erupted in violence after a grand jury declined to indict Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., this was the case of a white policeman shooting an unarmed black teenager with his hands in the air in a community plagued by racial tension.
Thats an account promoted by many in the mainstream media as well. But here are several facts about the case that are harder to find:
1. Surveillance video showed that shortly before the confrontation, 18-year-old Brown stole cigarillos from a convenience store and shoved a clerk who tried to stop him.
2. The autopsy report showed that Brown had marijuana in his system when he died.
3. Officer Wilson, driving from the scene of a medical emergency, first encountered Brown walking in the middle of a street and told Brown and his friend to walk on the sidewalk. Brown responded with an expletive.
4. Wilson chose to confront Brown only after he saw the cigarillos in his hand and recalled the radio report of a robbery at the convenience store.
5. Wilson said when he tried to open his car door, Brown slammed it back shut, then punched Wilson in the face.
6. Fearing another punch could knock him out, Wilson drew his gun, he told the grand jury, and Brown grabbed the gun, saying you are too much of a pussy to shoot me.
7. An African-American witness confirmed that Brown and Wilson appeared to be arm-wrestling by the car.
8. Another witness saw Brown leaning through the cars window and said some sort of confrontation was taking place.
9. After Wilson fired a shot that struck Browns hand, Brown fled and Wilson gave chase. Brown suddenly stopped. An unidentified witness told the grand jury that 6-foot-4, 292-pound Brown charged at Wilson with his head down. Wilson said Brown put his hand under the waistband of his pants as he continued toward Wilson. Thats when Wilson fired.
10. A witness testified that Brown never raised his hands.
11. Gunpowder found on the wound on Browns hand indicated his hand was close to the gun when it fired. According to a report, the hand wound showed foreign matter consistent with products that are discharged from the barrel of a firearm.
12. Judy Melinek, a forensic pathologist who reviewed the autopsy for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, said the gunpowder supports the fact that this guy is reaching for the gun, if he has particulate matter in the wound.
13. Wilson said Brown was physically uncontrollable and for lack of a better word, crazy. He said that during the confrontation, he was thinking: Hes gonna kill me. How do I survive? Legal experts say police officers typically have wide latitude to use deadly force when they feel their safety is threatened.

On any give day at any given time there is a reckoning on the horizon for those who are not prepared.
Those not prepared are like sheep to the slaughter, it has always been so.
Wonder how many guns, Big Five, in N. California sold yesterday and for the next two days.
Big Five had a lot of guns on sale in their Black Friday ad, and most if not all of the guns would be on sale through Sunday.
Most of the guns for sale were on page 6, there are other guns on page two of the ad.
Once people get guns they ought to really screw them up by trading guns around all over the place.
Flustercuck!
Hey, we are all all lawless now. We gotz Obama.
If it wears out they'll replace it or repair it free.
Through any number of owners, forever. Just like a Craftsman tool.
I stood in a long line behind a bunch of you right wing gun buyers yesterday. Suffice it to say, Black Friday is NOT the day to get a duck stamp, but I had to have it for today.
Just tell ‘em you’re with AFLAC and they’ll move you to the head of the line.
I know one of those guns sold was a Springfield M1A Socom with a Trijicon scope.
