Professor Cornel West appeared on CNN International this afternoon to give his take on Ferguson, and said right at the outset, Ferguson signifies the end of the age of Obama. Its a very sad end. We began with tremendous hope and we end with great despair. He went on to cite a Jim Crow criminal justice system that doesnt seek justice for young black and brown people, and said adamantly there is both a race and a class war going on against that group in America right now. CNNI anchor Hala Gorani asked West why hes so harsh on the

does God ever play a part in your life?
I said tries.
I am not defending the yutz, just pointing out that he pisses off his brothers by verging on truth occasionally.
Cornel thinks Obama is a lying arshole that is not down for the struggle.
He’s right about that.
I have said it from day one.
Obama plays them like fools.
>> Cornel: Its a very sad end.
A bad ending to a bad era.
>> We began with tremendous hope
Hope for what? Identity-based solutions?
If West is interested in true progress, he’ll support conservatism. Until then, his arguments are unrealistic.
>> bucolic
+1 for the pastoral descriptor.
Community organizers cant even stop a city from being pillaged and reduced to smoldering rubble.

Stop it? Why would they even try to stop it, when there very reason for existence is to start it?
Who gave the stand down order?
No, they have been monitoring and reading the Grand Jury testimony, reading the autopsies, conducting an investigation of Officer Wilson and the Police Department for potential civil rights violations.
I think they did manage to help in the arrest of 2 New Black Panthers who were planning on bombing stuff and confiscated some Molotov cocktails. And they were investigating the shooting of an officer in University city.
That second to last photo on your “About” page IS very hard to look at.
Booker T. Washington, George Washington Carver, Frederick Douglass, Venerable Pierre Touissant and others are so far above today’s racial hustlers. And they lived in MUCH tougher times. King quoted Thomas Aquinas on just vs. unjust laws from the Birmingham jail. Believe it or not, the elder Jesse Jackson started out very promising, strongly condemning abortion from Chicago. But he wanted power in the Democratic Party.
“Thats why its called white privilege. “
They have the privilege of working to support those that claim they are unprivileged.
Booker T looks surprisingly close to Allen West, enough to be closely related.
> They are eating their own. Love it.
And the power handover in the Senate hasn’t even happened yet. Once the bills start hitting Obama’s desk, the backbiting is going to be delicious.
“Cornell is a bit out there but he tries to stay intellectually honest.”
Uhh, try not to get carried away; keep in mind that philosophically and politically Cornel West is Left of Obama - which means he’s waaay over there.
AFAICT Michael Brown got all the “Justice” he earned and deserved.
btt
Cornel keeping it real!! He’s honest and humble for a commie.
Agreed.
Someone should ask West whether, if there’s really a race war underway, which side is waging it ... given that Brown is the one who initiated violent action against Wilson.
That’s probably because they hear Hannity, Beck and Limbaugh singing that song.
Limbaugh is old enough to know better but I get the impression he wasn’t paying attention when he was young. The other two weren’t around and their version of America pre 1965 is usually half comic book, half SDS manifesto.
