The US Army plans to deploy about 150 tanks and armoured vehicles to NATO countries next year and some of the heavy armour may be stationed in Eastern Europe, a top American general said on Tuesday.
The move is part of a US effort dubbed Operaton Atlantic Resolve in the Baltic states and Poland to reassure allies anxious about a 'resurgent Russia', with American troops deploying for several months at a time to conduct joint exercises.
Nearly 50 armoured vehicles are already in place and another 100 M1 Abrams tanks and Bradley fighting vehicles will be "pre-positioned" in Germany and possibly elsewhere for the US troops conducting drills with NATO partners, Lieutenant General Ben Hodges said in a phone interview from Estonia.

Fact, you're lack of knowledge is leading you to make conclusions that aren't accurate.
The United States is still easily the most powerful in the world, and Russia's build up isn't going as well as they would like, and has not transformed their military. As they still depend on poorly trained and equipped 1 year draftees , and a few better trained, better modernized and equipped, but small, elite units, in an Army that some experts think is as little as about 250,000, and the structure of that Army is not like the old Soviet forces, built for attack, instead it lacks the capabilities for large invasions, and sustained combat, and Russia cannot pull their forces from the greater threats of secession internally and the Eastern border.
That is why you need to read the current situation as described in post 15.

Since you claim to know so many military secrets I assume that you are still active duty military?
Also, since everyone else measures China as the world’s THIRD military power, and the United States as easily the MOST powerful, and you claim the opposite, why not give some sources for that bizarre claim?

And the thing is, TOTALLY INCOMPREHENSIBLE to armchair warmongers, is that a could of 1kt’s would do limited military damage (relative speaking), but would be the COMPLETE END to us ever thinking that we can go toe-to-toe with Russia. Europe would IMMEDIATELY realize that, despite the bravery of the Polish Calvary on their horses, spears will not stop tactical (or Intermediate, or Strategic) nukes, and Europe WILL QUICKLY realize just who their new masters are.
What they (i.e., the warmongers here) cannot understand, unfortunately, is that the ENTIRE REASON for having a SERIOUS DETERRENT is so you DO NOT have to use it, and Europe (along with Asia) realize that they can rely on you.

Polish cavalry does not use horses in battle.
They have tank brigades like everyone else, about 1/2 of them have modern German tanks. They could use more.
Unlike the Ukraine the Poles have much more modern equipment and ammunition.
They also have more modern aircraft and NATO integrated airbases from which NATO aircraft can operate.
They are also a much richer country than Ukraine and have no significant separatists to make into proxies for the Russians.

Yep, I ADMIT to being a peacenik. If our country is UNWILLING to spend the resources necessary to deal with Russia (which has modernized just about every weapon they ever had in the past 20 years), and China (which now has a larger economy than ours and can spend us into the ground on the military, thanks to their command economy), then YES, feel free to call me a peacenik.
At least I call for RE-BUILDING our military before starting World War 3, something you guys don’t think is necessary, as you guys seem stuck in the year 1992.

I see people posting crap saying that they (the Poles) will somehow defend our interests now, when they’re spending NEXT TO NOTHING on their military and have a bunch of boy scouts they call their army, while the Russians have weapons that we haven’t even started on coming up with countermeasures for, since we are MUCH MORE INTERESTED in providing contraceptives for Sandra Fluke.
Let’s agree on one thing - either we have Obamacare, or we’re a world power, for we sure as hell cannot afford both (as is now obvious).

Suck me. You have NO CLUE as to what I would say or what I’ve supported in the past. I am STILL WAITING for someone to say that we need to rebuild our military BEFORE engaging in activities that will lead to WW3. If you’ve see that, then point to it.
