GOP Introduces Bill That Would Enforce Ebola Travel Ban

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is among a group of five Republican senators who introduced a bill this week that, if passed, would impose a travel ban preventing those in countries currently afflicted by Ebola from coming to the United States.

A release on Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley's official website detailed the legislation. Rubio and Grassley are joined by Sens. Pat Roberts (Kan.), John Thune (S.D.) and Mark Kirk (Ill.).

Under the proposed bill, people living in countries experiencing "widespread transmission of Ebola" as noted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would be unable to acquire a visa to enter the U.S.

I dont think the Congress is getting this, no not at all. They can legislate all they want but if no enforcement is applied its all just a lot of yapping. Unless youre able and willing to put muscle behind your words these days thats all they are.

I so like Rubio except for being played by Shummer and McCain on immigration (yeah, I know all about him getting to DC not knowing how much the issue means to constitutional conservatives). It’s a brilliant move, because what democrat could vote for Ebola? Plus that, won’t it be necessary to make sure no one from those areas is entering the US illegally?

...and there are plenty no one in DC will enforce. They all look the other way. Selective enforcement is breaking the entire law...and they know that too. We really really dont need more laws, rules, executive orders etc. We need leaders who will abide by the laws they’ve enacted. If the laws arent going to be enforced repeal them.

I am calling for disbanding Congress completely since it cannot and will not protect our freedoms and liberties.

If all it has become is a funding source without restraint, and $18 trillion is debt means there is no restraint, then why do we need a Congress? Congress simply pencil whips appointments, supreme court nominations, ambassador appointments, funding, etc. So, why pay for a Congress?

Let’s just get right to a 4 year elected dictator. Every 4 years we will elect a dictator who operates without a Congress. It is what we have now.

Yet another reason to move Congress out of DC. At home, in front of voters, they would have to at least have to appear to have spine. If they don't, we can shove a rod where the sun doesn't shine to make it look good.

IMHO, if they are removed from all the butt-kissers and have to look their EMPLOYERS in the eye, they will be more responsive. After all, pitchforks still look pretty impressive from the pointy end.
