The Internal Revenue Service, which claims to be so understaffed that it cant bother to collect unpaid taxes, or search backup tapes for Lois Lerners missing emails, apparently has plenty of time to read the comment threads on conservative blogs that have been critical of the agency (Hi there, IRS agents!). William Jacobson, one of the best-informed and most effective critics of the agency, writes on Legal Insurrection:
Hey, remember the Reader Poll we did about whether it was okay to follow and try to interview Lois Lerner in her neighborhood?
Do you approve of media confronting Lois Lerner in her neighborhood? (Reader Poll): (snip)
Just another Legal Insurrection fun time, right?

Just a short time back I mad a comment on FR indicating that I think the situation in this country may now be worse than in Russia and was roundly denounced for it. Somehow I believe a lot of people are coming to that conclusion now. Which way you are heading means more than where you are and I think that Russia may have hit bottom and started back up while we seem to still be headed down. I certainly don’t hear or read all the comments about “our great freedoms” that I used to note just a few years ago. You have to be rather blind to not realize that our great freedoms are mainly a thing of the past.
They don’t have our guns yet....
They understand that, I think.
At this point, it’s just a matter of
“how far can we push them before they decide it’s time to not be civil anymore?”
The reason powerful men get away with crimes like this is intimidation and the fear and shame they instill in young women, which at that time carried over to the males in police departments who disbelieved young women or called them whores when they tried to report rapes by powerful men intimidations which would be repeated by defense attorneys if such a case ever went to trial.
Yet another woman (#6) came forward today about ol' Huxtable. It seems his victims have found strength in numbers. One of the most disturbing things about these stories is that all of them who claimed a penetrative assault also claim he used drugs to subdue them first.
In the intervening years since these alleged rapes took place, legislation has been passed giving rape victims more legal protections, such as the routine use of female police officers to handle their claims, prompt collection and proper storage of rape kit evidence, and courts being prevented from using the woman's sexual history to impugn her at trial -- this was a very effective shaming technique from those days when these accusations were said to have occured. Women then were still expected only to have sex if married, and were shamed not only during police investigations but also in the media during rape trials if they were not virgins due to a failed engagement, or had indulged in only a small fraction of what their male counterparts did sexually. If they wore alluring clothing, only a hint of the exposed flesh you see today in supermarkets, high schools and even churches, this was used as an accusation that they deserved to be raped. Many victims said the trials were worse than the actual rapes.
That said, I am no fan of the women who are not actually raped, but rather use the legal system to inflict retaliation.
How many can recall the time when it was common to read or hear scholars, politicians, commentators and others speak somberly of how we are a nation of laws, not men?
And the time when the US Constitution was often and reverently referred to as the supreme law of the land?
We don't hear either of those references very much these days.
As a nation we have abandoned respect for the law and the constitution to become a personality cult governed by a arrogant and insane men and women, led by a juvenile psychopath, all of whom spit on the law and ridicule anyone who speaks of laws or the constitution.
There’s a bunch of lacrosse players from Duke that are still wearing the t-shirt from one of these little vacations.
Six women - none at the time thought to talk to a cop?
If the IRS is monitoring this comment, please do me a favor. I’m missing a photograph of a famous covert communist/lawyer/author who was caught in a very interesting situation (i.e. penis acupuncture) and basically persuaded to bail out of a planned political situation by a law enforcement agency that shall remain nameless (they were the honest ones, protesting America from its enemies).
This attorney was not only a traitor, but one sick SOB, a journalistic psychopath to whom the truth meant nothing.
I know this photo is out there. Since either you or the NSA seem to know everything that is said or written, can you check my previous writings (since 1965) and see if I mentioned where that photo is stored. There are other related photos but I don’t know who has them now.
I’m now old and crippled so I can’t do the legwork like I used to do. Would appreciate your help.
By the way, your tax processors have been pretty good with my tax return documents so I have no complaints there. It’s just when you target loyal Americans that I get upset.
See you April 15th.
If you weren't alive then and aren't a female, you may not understand; hear me now, believe me later. Even today, many rapes go unreported because of the trauma involved. Are you saying they should just shut up about it because... why?
Justice delayed is justice denied.
It seems that once one of them had the courage to finally say something, it has opened the floodgates for others who were misused; there are also many similarities in their stories about how he approached them, even though the alleged victims have no other connection.
Washington Post: Bill Cosby raped me. Why did it take 30 years for people to believe my story?
Only when a male comedian called Cosby a rapist did the accusation take hold.
Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping!
To get onto The Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping List you must threaten to report me to the Mods if I don't add you to the list...
That's not exactly a news flash, Nully, but thanks for the reminder.
Well here is a comment for them:
FUIRS.
So on 26 Jaunuary, the Romanian press behaved towards Ceaușescu the way ours does towards obama every day?
