Enzi Plans to Oust Sessions from Budget Chair

Serving as the Ranking minority member on the Budget Committee over the past few years, Sessions has effectively used budget point of orders to tactically block big spending bills and has fought terrible budget deals proposed by both Republicans and Democrats. He has served as a one-man think tank and stalwart against amnesty and in defense of our nation’s borders, sovereignty, workers, and taxpayers. Indeed, in an era when the budget process will be the last recourse against Obama’s lawlessness, there is nobody more qualified to serve as Budget chair than Sessions.

But this thought process all assumes that other Republicans value the leadership qualities Sessions has exhibited on these critical budgetary issues. According to Congressional Quarterly, Mike Enzi, the senior senator from Wyoming, is planning to challenge Sessions for the chairmanship. And even though Enzi has not served as ranking minority member on the Budget committee or led publicly on budgetary issues, his seniority would bump Sessions from the position. This is yet another example of why the seniority system is a poor method for determining leaders. All one has to do is look at the Senate Republican conference to to quickly ascertain that conservatives are not only providing the leadership to fight against Obama, but also putting forth the conservative ideas needed to move forward. See Mike Lee and the large policy portfolio of solutions he has developed.

While Enzi is far from a liberal, he does not measure up to Sessions in terms of serving as a leader and a voice on critical issues.

That is what Jeff sessions has done, as explained by the lead of the article in question, what has Enzi done?

I will let the reader judge whether relitigating George Bush's vacations is relevant to this discussion. Perhaps we ought to consider the relative merits of Sessions vs. Enzi. But in your relentless effort to cover for Enzi you try to divert the discussion away from matters relevant.

Indeed. If it's a question about who would make a better Senate Budget Committee Chairman (rather than a question of who would make a better Senator from a Wyoming, where the evidence is overwhelmingly against Princess Liz), I'd probably lean Sessions as well, based on the evidence I've seen thus far.

However, the fact is that the bid for Budget Committeeman Chairman is a contest for an open slot, that is being contested by two reliable conservatives.

Continuing to flat out lie about Mike Enzi's record in office and falsely claiming he's a liberal and a RINO isn't helping your cause. Nor is distorting the reality of the situation by portraying Sessions as the sitting Budget Committee Chairman and pretending that Enzi is trying to "strip" or "oust" Sessions from that job.

It there was a debate about whether to have a hamburger or hot dog for lunch, I could yell over and over again on FR that hamburger is a vegetable and that putting hamburger is a bun will rid the world of all hot dogs. That wouldn't make it the truth.

Jeff Sessions is a good, honest, principled man. It's a shame some people on this forum resort to such despicable tactics to advocate on his behalf. Hopefully he will win the post in spite of your antics.

You have really crossed the line.

You conclude as follows:

Jeff Sessions is a good, honest, principled man. It's a shame some people on this forum resort to such DESPICABLE TACTICS to advocate on his behalf. Hopefully he will win the post in spite of your ANTICS. (emphasis supplied)

I suppose you mean by my "antics" your allegations which appear above that I have, (1) "continuing to flat-out lie" about Mike and his record in office; (2) falsely claiming he's a liberal; (3) portraying Jeff Sessions as the sitting budget Committee Chairman

If you cannot document these charges you in decency should apologize.

No doubt you will fail to get around to doing either so I will note for the record that Jeff Sessions is the ranking member of the committee with which is a relevant fact that you are left out when you excoriated me for "distorting reality":

Nor is distorting the reality of the situation by portraying Sessions as the sitting Budget Committee Chairman and pretending that Enzi is trying to "strip" or "oust" Sessions from that job.

Let the reader consider whether lies of omission distort reality.

You are really contemptible.

Coming from you, I wear that as a badge of honor.

Your smears where you:
1) continue to flat-out lie about Mike Enzi and his record in office;
2) falsely claim Mike Enzi is a liberal (repeatedly calling him a RINO, which stands for Republican In Name Only); and
3) portray Jeff Sessions as the sitting budget Committee Chairman

can be documented throughout this thread (and will remain on record for everyone to see, as long as the moderators don't delete your posts), as well as past threads where you advocated for Liz Cheney (who, unlike Enzi, DOES have proven liberal positions on major issues like gay marriage and amnesty) over Mike Enzi.

Furthermore, you originally made the topic of thread about how it would better to have Cheney than Enzi, before switching the argument to Sessions vs. Enzi when you were losing the debate.

I have nothing to apologize for, as the vast majority of posts on this thread confirm the facts I made about Enzi's record (which is far from RINOish) and the situation for Budget Committee Chairman (where there is NO Chairman to "oust", due to the outgoing Chairman being a Democrat) were correct.

… can be documented

Do it or stop your libels.

I knew I would get neither documentation nor apology as predicted, rather you have instead doubled down making you doubly contemptible.
