..."The LIV’s think the new Republican-controlled Senate just shot down Keystone. They have no idea the Dems are still in charge until Jan"....

That's exactly right...and why the DEMS are going to play everything just like this and play the Low Information Voters for all they can. I think it's called a set up. (LOL)

This isn't about Keystone...it's about perception...always.

Bret Baer just said it was Native American chant celebrating the killing of the bill (duh) but not who.

The Sioux tribe declared war today if the bill passed (there’s a thread). I’m guessing it was some Sioux kids chanting (how often do kids get admitted to the Senate peanut gallery?)

“College kids doing the Fauxcahontas chant, then they break into a sports team chant”

Brett Baire on Fox just chimed in that it was Native Americans pleased with the vote. I’ll go with that it was a Granny Clampett Warren protest.

Of all the Obambi dictatorial policies, why is this so important...especially with shale fracking and the lower oil prices? Why is this number one on Pubbie’s list?

IMHO, it's a quicker, and cheaper, way to get the crude to the gulf coast refineries. Similar to the Alaska Pipeline, only further south.

Why did this need 60 votes?

It was the cloture vote to end debate, not the vote on the bill.

Warren looked convincingly surprised.

Maybe she was. But I’m intensely curious exactly who the chanters were, because Warren’s going to use this in her campaign against Cuomo and Thighness.

We will see. Ten Democrats have joined Landrieu in co-sponsoring the legislation approving the pipeline: Sens. Joe Manchin (W.Va.), Kay Hagan (N.C.), Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.), Mark Pryor (Ark.), Claire McCaskill (Mo.), Jon Tester (Mont.), Mark Warner (Va.), Mark Begich (Alaska), Joe Donnelly (Ind.) and John Walsh (Mont.).

Tester, Mancin, Heitkamp, and Donnelly appear to be locks along with Warner. McCaskill will probably come along since she is up for reelection. The rest will be replaced by Reps.

Sen. Michael Bennet (Colo.) Bennet brought the vote total in favor of Keystone to 59 on Friday when Landrieu told reporters that Bennet “feels very strongly” about Keystone, and that he would support the bill.

Sen. Bob Casey (Penn.) Casey supported the pipeline earlier this year, and was one of the first to get behind Landrieu’s push last week. He will vote “yes” to approve Keystone on Tuesday.

Sen. Tom Carper (Del.) Will vote “yes,” in favor of the pipeline on Tuesday. He said “enough already” on Thursday. “Let's clear the decks” and start talking about other issues, Carper said.

You would think that every Democrat in the Senate would have the sense of comity and collegiality to vote sympatico with Landrieu. Guess not. She’s overboard and 41 of her esteemed colleagues and very dear friends were not willing to throw her a life saver.

I haven’t a clue but my guess is that it was an ancient Indian curse upon the head of a paleface that pretends to be an Indian . . . well, one can hope, right?

Maybe the curse is that all her hair and teeth will fall out and her voice box will shrivel up and go away.

We can speculate about if the bill will pass the new senate but it’s pretty sure there are not enough votes to overcome the veto.

As I said before. These votes are often scripted to produce a result. Failing by only one vote was the most powerful effort Reid could provide to support Landrieu without forcing Obama to cast a veto. If, and when, Landrieu loses her seat, there will be no reason for the dems to support her by voting for the bill.

I guess the Democrats decided that protecting Obama was more important than protecting Landrieu..

Ya thank? BINGO.

It will get interesting if Republicans make him veto it every week to draw attention to his anti-jobs and energy policy.

It will be really interesting if the Democrats will cave and override his veto or put their names on their opponents political advertising.

He is wrong on both. Let’s bring it!

Check out the latest poll # from LA

Cassidy 59% - 38% over Landrieu)

Kind of ironic isn't it.
