Details of executive order at link.
Clayton actually has a fair amount of rental property - much of which is occupied by university types (Washington University professors and students, mainly, and most of whom are Chinese and Indian). I live in a 12-unit building, and am the only white person there. I would also bet that I’m the only armed person there, as well. A perimeter defense would be next to impossible to coordinate, as my neighbors barely speak English and likely have no clue about the true nature of the threat that will erupt once/if the grand jury issues a no bill. Clayton residents who live in single family houses are nearly all very wealthy, and vote Democrat. Think “Granny Warren” and you’ll come up with a national candidate to their collective liking. If the storm does engulf us, they’ll get what they deserve.
You expect a tree limb to come crashing thru the window?........................
The Governor has as good as announced it. Only one option causes expectation of riots and mayhem.
It would be something to lob a cherry bomb or M-80 off the roof and watch looters scatter like cockroaches. But you’d have to be quick and hide, lest authorities descend on you en masse. However, that would also be a protective action.
New shipment of Swisher Sweets tonight.
They may figure they need to take advantage of the extreme cold while they can.
As I recall the people organizing the 'protests' wanted a 48 hour advance notice... that would give them time to round up the rioters and looters.
I’ve actually thought about the fireworks angle. It makes sense. Throw a 2,000-count firecracker brick into the midst of these idiots, and watch ‘em run.
Or is it “bruthas”?
Oh, there are plenty of conservatives in Clayton, too. I went to seminary in Clayton. Now I live in south St. Louis County, but I get up to Clayton quite a bit.
Heck, with 2,000 firecrackers you'd see some fancy tap dancing!
Hello,
I live in SW St Louis Co. I wish I knew what was coming, of course I don’t. It concerns me a lot that the President met with the protestors. How that will change the equation is my biggest question at this time.
Our school district (Lindbergh) has sent out a letter to all parents that they do not believe that our area will be affected, but will react to events as needed.
MOgirl
We will see if the Guard is there to maintain the peace, or protect protestors from store owners trying to guard their stores.
A waste of time I volunteered to go back to the Nam.
It really would be the kind thing to do. If they are allowed to riot and loot, many will be injured just from scuffles between rioters and looters. Think of Black Friday shoppers on steroids.
The rioting & looting WITHOUT ANY action by the police or National Guard may end up with more fatalities than the original case.
The other fear is that since the Socialist/Communist organizations are actively and openly pushing for riot & looting, they may try to instigate another Kent State scenario. Two armed and angry groups facing off... it would only take a firecracker or two to ignite the conflict.
Boeing? Government contractor?
Stupid move!
Well, I have always disliked Jay Nixon, but this is right thing to do.
The useful idiot protesters are comparing themselves to the Civil Rights Movement.
The only movement they resemble is the one I had this morning.
“Only one option causes expectation of riots and mayhem.”
I have read posts of Twitter feeds that say that the protestors intend rioting regardless of the GJ decision.
