Basically the police view these children and the school as nothing more than target practice. ...and by the way, you're not alone. Police septs are more and more resembling the thuggish "Peacekeepers" in "Hunger Games".

I’ve gone 180 degrees from my views growing up concerning the police. They’ve gone from 100% pro-cop (good-guys) to a complete distrust and hatred for these lying, thuggish, mafia wannabees.

How many incidents were there when a LEO was demonstrating gun safety to a class when they shot themselves or the gun going off?
I haven’t gone quite that far yet, but I do recognize that things have changed. My first interaction with a cop was when I was in second grade and one gave me a ride to school because he realized I was going to be late.
I viewed cops as generally good through my college days in the 70’s. There were many times then they could have brought the hammer down on my friends and me, but they chose less drastic and less socially disruptive actions. Lessons given and learned.
Nowadays, however, everything is going towards “Maximum Bob”. At a recent 40th wedding anniversary party, we oldsters were reveling in tales of our youth when one of the adult children told us, in a serious tone, “ You would be in prison if you did that today.” She was right.

As the federal and state governments grow more and more tyrannical each passing year that number continues to grow both fore the politicians and those that enforce their unt-Constitutional edicts.

This is LE attitude to handling weapons now. Point them at everyone, for nothing. Forget all concepts of weapon safety. Forget that we no more enjoy having guns pointed at us, than cops enjoy having guns pointed at them. But we aren’t people to them.
IT’S ALL BOYS WITH TOYS. That is what guns are to cops. Or penile extensions. What they really wanted was an audience to their commando games.
Do your training when kids aren’t in school. They need to focus on study, not constantly be given the idea death is around the corner.
