In the early years of the 20th Century, the science of eugenics spread across America, from pulpits to statehouses, with religious zeal.
The underlying premise of the eugenics movement was that the undesirable traits of parents would invariably be passed on to their children. While the scientific basis for this assumption had little data to support its conclusions, the new science was quickly embraced by the American progressive movement and many of the wealthy.
Early funding for eugenics projects came from such wealthy Americans as John Rockefeller, J.P. Morgan, and oil magnate and founder of the 3-in-1 Oil Company, James Noah H. Slee, the second husband of Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger. The term eugenics was coined by Sir Francis Galton, a British anthropologist, progressive and scientist. The Galton family were prosperous Quakers who made their fortune in manufacturing guns.

Actually, life is a gift from God, but I wouldn't expect a eugenicist to understand this.
Note China has not sanctioned reproduction of mental deficients for many generations.
I will note that the Chinese have EXTERMINATED well in excess of 100 MILLION people in the last century and that YOU ADMIRE this policy.
Note also that the Chinese also have a higher average IQ than Americans,
And yet the advances made by Chinese in fields of science, technology, art and culture in the past century amount to zilch.
and that was before we started importing low IQ Latrinos and subsidizing reproduction of the urban blacks dwelling in the shallow end of the IQ pool.
So, it seems that your opinion is that we should follow the Chicom example and insure that non-white Americans no longer reproduce. Just to clarify, should Jews continue to have children?
Tis a quandry - what is the value of a Stephan Hawking versus a population of droolers?
I'm always amazed at how the Darwinists single out Hawking for praise, yet advocate the elimination of anyone else with his condition.
Most perplexing question: Who decides - government with subsidies or parents?
It seems clear from your praise of the Chinese that you believe the state should decide who lives and dies.
Yes, but your other comments seem to indicate that you consider certain IQ scores or ethnicity to also be "catastrophic" genetic conditions.
There is another, and closely related issue, specifically that parents who deliberately birth children with genetic diseases usually ask, make that demand, that others pay for their childs medical bills.
"Deliberately birth," what a clever euphemism for refusing to abort.
Do you actually have any documentation that such parents usually (e.g. more than 50% of the time) "demand" that others pay for their healthcare?
Why should I be billed for the raising of a child I neither fathered nor wanted?
Let me guess, you would pay to kill the child -- am I right?
Is not such a tax in the same realm of oppression as taxing me for another religion which I do not believe in?
Letting people live is taxing you for not believing in Judeo-Christian religious teachings?
For the better part of a century Christians have been paying to have your repugnant Darwinism taught in schools. Darwinism IS a religion and it originates in the depths of hell and it has been responsible for more deaths in the past century than all of the plagues, wars, famines, crimes and natural disasters in the history of the world combined. Americans spend billions paying for YOUR religion and it has caused nothing but death and misery.
Had we not allowed government into medical charity, this issue would not exist.
So, you're advocating a system where the poor are just left to die?
Looks like the Founders were correct when they severely limited government.
Founding Father John Adams was absolutely correct when he wrote the following:
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.
Our Founding Fathers limited government in order to PROTECT the rights of man, Darwinism wants to take those rights away.
It is not just them, this has been going on for a very long time.
Minimum wage? Living wage? Want to know what they really are talking about? Look up this guy...Royal Meeker. In many, many ways Gruber is right, because if the stupid people ever heard the truth...well then...I’d hate to be...
Regarding Minimum Wage:
It is much better to enact a minimum-wage law even if it deprives these unfortunates of work better that the state should support the inefficient wholly and prevent the multiplication of the breed than subsidize incompetence and unthrift, enabling them to bring forth more of their kind. - Royal Meeker, U.S. Commissioner of Labor, under Woodrow Wilson
...and prevent the multiplication of the breed than subsidize incompetence and unthrift, enabling them to bring forth more of their kind.
You address some excellent issues and I support your position very much. It appears that "normal" healthy people seem to always have the answer to life and death when it comes to those who are not beneficial to their society or meet their standards.
Being a proud father of a gorgeous boy with Down Syndrome I can attest that there have been many in the past who made their positions known while referencing my son's condition. The opinions stated by the elite on here and other places are nothing new to me. They have ranged from nasty descriptions, to an argument about money, to a final assault on my wife and I on why we didn't simply abort "Someone who wouldn't ever contribute" anything. Even our dentist didn't want to talk about braces for our son because "he doesn't really need straight teeth anyway".
The poster you responded to lives in an artificial elite bubble with simple yes and no answers to the most complicated process, life it self. Everyday is a struggle to make sure he gets the SAME treatment as other children, but he will always need more attention. Simply measuring someone's IQ is not the only standard, and having witnessed some of the most glorious eye opening experiences with my son and what he has taught me and other children and adults about what life is really about I consider myself truly blessed.
It appears that "normal" healthy people seem to always have the answer to life and death when it comes to those who are not beneficial to their society or meet their standards.
What the elites fail to understand is that once the door is opened, it is impossible to shut and a new decree can come down at any time and decide that any group at all is no longer fit to live.
wow.
I think we can all sense insanity in there.
You mean life affirming things?
Hitler was an amateur compared to this crowd.
Boy I work with some of the most sad cases and I do agree. there are people that need to be sterilized because people who have no ability to judge or care for other humans are having babies. There is no restraint. Think mentally retarded and severely mentally ill.
Also do we really need a plethora of sociopaths? Our prisons are filled with low IQ sociopaths. Sociopathy has in some studies, a 50% genetic inheritance possibility. Why make more prisoners?
So, you long for the return of the "three generations of imbeciles is enough" programs?
What type of system would you like to see implemented to carry out your agenda?
Sociopathy has in some studies, a 50% genetic inheritance possibility.
So does nearsightedness, do you have a list of conditions that comprise the untermenschen?
yep!
The only culture they contribute is that which they dig up from the ancient past.
I think a eugenicist who wants people sterilized also has no ability to judge or care for other humans. IMO
I'm not saying that they don't have value, but let's not fool ourselves into thinking that the Chinese have contributed anything more than cheap labor.
After World War II, the United States rebuilt Japan's economy. In the 1940s and 1950s, EVERYTHING being made in Japanese factories was junk. However, the Japanese were paying attention and doing everything they could to improve. By the 1970s, products coming out of Japan were as good or better than anything in the world. The Japanese developed VHS in the early 70s, by the 80s they had made it affordable and it changed TV viewing forever.
NONE of this is coming out of China. American, European, Japanese and Korean companies build cheap factories in China, show the Chinese how to assemble whatever it is the foreign company wants and do it cheaper than anywhere else in the world. People talk about how the Chinese standard of living is going up, but that's not true. Some Chinese have become incredibly wealthy, but the workers are impoverished by Western standards. As soon as Chinese wages begin to approach Western wages, the companies will pull out of China and go somewhere cheaper and this would ruin China's economy and they know it.
Exactly right. The ones getting rich in China are the ones who have connections and pay bribes probably.
check out the average income of China, India and Mauritius.
Seriously, Mauritius is doing better.
The Japanese improved because under the Marshall Plan we sent quality control genius William Edwards Deming to Japan with a team of industrial engineers to fix their manufacturing sector.

Wagglebee I am going to say this and be done.
Nearsightedness can be fixed AND does not involved the kind of enslavement of taxpayers dealing with danger and expense of harboring and imprisoning generations of sociopaths and cleaning up the death and mayhem they engender.
As Murray said in his prescient 11th and 12th chapters of the bell curve, there will come a time that the elite and the average will not be able to and will no longer wish to bear the burden of the continued generations of pathology. We have had the luxury of wealth, which is rapidly evaporating. He outlined two ways that this may be resolved, one with compassion and the other using the horrific ways humans tend to do throughout the eons.
Compassion would include sterilization. Not everyone should reproduce. Horrifically in times past, the issue of these poor souls often died in gutters and of abuse. These days they do not (thank god) but they do cause the expanding generations of increasingly debased abilities we now see.
I asked you for a LIST OF CONDITIONS and a SYSTEM OF IMPLEMENTATION. Is it so difficult to provide this?
As Murray said in his prescient 11th and 12th chapters of the bell curve,
Ah yes, the "handbook" for eugenics.
Compassion would include sterilization.
We should] apply a stern and rigid policy of sterilization and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny is tainted, or whose inheritance is such that objectionable traits may be transmitted to offspring.
-- Margaret Sanger
Not everyone should reproduce.
No woman shall have the legal right to bear a child, and no man shall have the right to become a father, without a permit...
-- Margaret Sanger
Horrifically in times past, the issue of these poor souls often died in gutters and of abuse.
Hordes of people [are] born, who live, yet who have done absolutely nothing to advance the race one iota. Their lives are hopeless repetitions Such human weeds clog up the path, drain up the energies and the resources of this little earth. We must clear the way for a better world; we must cultivate our garden.
-- Margaret Sanger
These days they do not (thank god) but they do cause the expanding generations of increasingly debased abilities we now see.
We are paying for, and even submitting to, the dictates of an ever-increasing, unceasingly spawning class of human beings who never should have been born at all.
-- Margaret Sanger
Congratulations, you have completely espoused the left's core doctrine.
