Pelosi: Boehner, McConnell got Time covers, but I never did

Washington (CNN) -- Nancy Pelosi doesn't understand why House Speaker John Boehner and newly-elected Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have been on the cover of Time magazine in light of their electoral victories, but she has not.

"I was never on Time magazine cover even though I was first women to be (Speaker)," Rep. Pelosi, D-California, said. "Isn't that a curiosity? That the Republicans win, Boehner's on Time magazine. Mitch McConnell wins, he's on the cover of Time magazine. Isn't there a pattern here?"

Pelosi's comments came as a reaction to a press conference question Thursday about whether she has considered stepping down as minority leader in light of the Democrats losing the House for the fourth time since she led the chamber in 2011.

Charging that the question was unnecessary, Pelosi said she is now thinking that she has "a mission for women on this score."

'When was the day when any of you said Mitch McConnell, when they lost (taking back) the Senate three times in a row, 'Aren't you getting a little old, Mitch? Shouldn't you step aside,'" Pelosi asked. "Have any of you ever asked him that question?"

That’s because Time magazine had to let us see the cover with her picture before they could print it.

Maybe Pelosi needs a you-know-what to be taken seriously!

Heck, why take a chance, get two of them! That should get her some attention!

Well Nance Pee that Time mag is one right wing, neocon sexist magazine secretly funded by the Koch bros. How dare they leave the queen P off of their covers. Hold a press conference and denounce Time as Tea Party butt kissers of the 1%ers.

Bless her heart, she thinks Time is relevant. It’s not 1975 anymore, and hasn’t been for quite some ... (sigh) time.

But, Nanzi, perhaps your picture is *inside* the magazine.

You just have to buy it to find out what is inside it.

Time didn’t want 92.7% of it’s subscribers to cancel.

Sorry San Fran Nan.

(funny, I wrote that before I read you had used the same exact term)

Nancy, you don’t need a TIME cover.
You just need to DO time.

"a mission for women on this score."

Pelosi doesn't deserve space on the Time cover. Look at the background of Boehner and McConnell, they earned their careers all by themselves. Do a little snooping at Pelosi's career, and what do you find? Her husband's brother Ronald Pelosi was a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. She came from Baltimore in 1969 and got her brother-in-law to hook her up with political connections. One of those was Congressman Phil Burton, one of the most powerful democrats in California. When Phil died, his wife Sala took over his office. When Sala became ill, she appointed Nancy as her successor in 1987.

Nancy Pelosi never earned the congressional office on her own merits. She was repeatedly re-elected with no opposition. She is hardly a poster child for a successful woman, getting the office purely by luck and sucking up to friends. Boehner and McConnell did not get where they are by who they slept with.

She could make the cover of Psychology Today with a case study on crazy as her feature story. (As the subject of course)

Maybe Pelosi would have a better chance of getting on the cover of Playboy than Boner or McConnell. But I wouldn’t bet on it.

Too late, Nancy. Almost no one sees the ‘cover’ of Time anymore. Even those reading online may do so without viewing a ‘cover page’. You make Drudge on a regular basis. doesn’t that count?
