"AUSTIN, Tx., November 13, 2014 A Texas state representative has introduced a bill to thwart enforcement of virtually all federal gun control measures within the state.
Introduced by newly re-elected Representative Tim Kleinschmidt (R-Lexington), House Bill 176 (HB176) declares all federal restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms to be invalid and not enforceable within the state of Texas. It reads, in part:
A federal law, including a statute, an executive, administrative, or court order, or a rule, that infringes on a law-abiding citizens right to keep and bear arms under the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution or Section 23, Article I, Texas Constitution, is invalid and not enforceable in this state..."

From the Montana law
There are a number of military installations that have either concurrent jurisdiction with civilian authorities or have ceded jurisdiction to civilian authorities. Was always an issue when the local sheriff wanted to serve a warrant on somebody on base.
But Section 3, which amends the code, does not contain that restriction.
California has a similar law with regard to medical marijuana. If prevents any state or local law enforcement from helping to enforce Federal laws against people who are legal under the state law. The state can’t stop the Feds from enforcing Federal laws, but they have to do it all themselves.
I don’t think Section 3 amends anything at all, I think it just adds further clarity. Perhaps a lawyer should take a look at this bill?
“Will the state of Texas come to your defense when the feds arrest you for violating a federal gun law?”
The Sheriff of the county could stop them if he wanted to. He could arrest the Feds if they didn’t have his permission to operate.
“Liberals (and libertarians) have been for the decriminalization of weed for a long tine.”
It should never have been criminalized in the first place, it was never a problem to begin with unless you’re one of those people who actually believed Reefer Madness. Of course there’s always that perennial favorite ‘It’s For The Children’ which the Progressives and the Conservatives both love to use when they want to commit egregious acts against the populace and the Bill of Rights for whatever reason.
"Where necessary to make a regulation of interstate commerce effective, Congress may regulate even those intrastate activities that do not themselves substantially affect interstate commerce."

Texas would be telling fedgov to get screwed, just like many states have done with marijuana. Good on ya Texas!
Full Auto?
Since when is the NRA a legislative body?
And Scalia is considered a conservative.
Interesting.
A number of so-called conservatives love the Drug War more than the Constitution.
