252 Ayes 161 Noes 1 Voting Present and 20 NOT VOTING
BFD, it’s been passing for years.
Go to the link provided to see a particular Congressman's vote...
According to this talking head on bloomberg this morning, whether the pipeline passes or not is almost a moot point as rail and the use of other pipelines and the glut in domestic supplies have taken care of the need.
It probably will backfire on Landrieu, even though she is supporting it...
That is the only reason the votes have come up. It is possible that some of the LAME DUCK senators may vote for this, and allow it to pass the Senate.
It is always better to have more capacity...
A Republican President elected in 2016 might push this hard to help create jobs and the economy.
There would be 50,000 direct jobs, and probably a few indirect jobs as well.
North Dakota (and E. Montana) need more pipeline capacity.
My stupid congressman actually voted “aye!” Will wonders ever cease?
He was probably told to do so by the higher ups. He’d never think to vote this way on his own.
Can’t go wrong with increased capacity. :)
Oh....it will pass in the Senate......Democrat Senators with any brains will realize that Obama is destroying himself and the entire Democrat Party. When the bill clears the Senate...it goes right to Obama...who will immediately veto it.
Then both the House and Senate will overide Obama’s veto, which in real life will destroy Obama as an effective, controlling, POTUS!!! This is interesting......folks.....watch who votes (Democrats) for the bill next Tuesday......they are the ones that want to broom Obama!!!
With only 252 votes? You need 290 for a veto - well, 2/3 anyway. I don’t see 35 Dems abstaining. I don’t see 20 Dems switching from nay to aye.
I haven’t seen the Senate vote but I imagine it’s worse there.
In the 114th Congress, there should be a good chance to the House to have the 2/3 of the House to override.
But the Senate may be a problem even in the 114th. Getting 66 or 67 votes to override may be a problem.
I hope I am wrong...
Nice....
So you are correct that it go through. And a veto might be overridden.
