WASHINGTON (AP) -

The U.S. Supreme Court said Wednesday that same-sex marriages can go ahead in Kansas.

The nation's highest court denied the state's request to prevent gay and lesbian couples from marrying while Kansas fights the issue in court. The state constitution includes a provision banning gay marriage, approved overwhelmingly by voters in 2005.

Then don’t vote I suppose. The gay “marriage” issue has been lost. Over. Done. Politicians will not waste ammo fighting it.

Dred Scott v. Sandford, Roe v. Wade, The Ubamacare declaration.

Yep, The Supreme Court is the last and best bulwark for liberty......

Not!

People are saying this fight is lost, but then, isn't Roe v. Wade law too? People haven't given up on that fight yet. Dare I say America is becoming more pro-life. In my circles anyway.

Our masters are sin and depravity, and we obey them. Yea, we celebrate them with asinine laws that declare sin to actually be righteousness.

We appeal to the Judges of Sodom and expect what?.

Judges 17:6

In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

Nothing against heavy-set people honestly, just an observation, why do the Lesbians always look like they do at the picture in the link?? http://www.kctv5.com/story/27369036/supreme-court-lifts-hold-on-gay-marriage-in-kansas

Why do gay men look very often, “prissy” (or “sissy”) I’d say.

On this issue, I see a very militant kind of intolerance being allowed, I’m not sure about other issues.

“Enough states had their own amendments in place to represent the 2/3 vote we would need.”

Ten years ago that might have been true. But the states that passed their amendments in the 50-60% ranges in the middle of the last decade probably wouldn’t be able to pass them at all in 2014. If you look at the referendums CA had on the issue it lost 9% in 8 years between 2000 and 2008. NC passed it amendment by 61%, the same % CA passed prop 22 by in 2000. So 2012 NC was where 2000 CA was on the issue.

No it has not been lost unless you surrender. At minimum we should put forth an effort to pass a marriage amendment. 30 some states had done so, or at least had legislation in place. Congress had a DOMA. It is WRONG for the federal courts to overturn them.

The only people who say it is lost are people who want it to be lost. Just like the phony call for state’s rights until the federal judges started overturn the decisions of the states.

No. Polling data counts for nothing. Even when the amendments were being voted on, pollsters claimed they would not pass. Only they DID pass. Pollsters were all wrong about the recent election, too. They poll according to their own biases. The only vote that counts is in the voting booth.

It would have an excellent chance of passing and it is the right thing to do. Remember that? The right thing to do? There are times when something is right and you need to go out there and persuade people.

It was “time” 15 years ago, but John McCain and other “Republicans” insisted that it wasn’t necessary, since DOMA would protect us. Back in 1998 or so, a Federal Marriage Amendment easily would have cleared 2/3 of each house and been ratified by state legislatures of 38 states, and that would have been that.

I looked for verification, I remember Rush said support of Traditional Marriage in NC has actually grown (per exit polling) and I would think it would grow when the Federal Government forces Same Sex Marriage on the people of the State.

Rush said support of Traditional Marriage Only grew from the vote of 61% in NC to 72% per Exit Polling.

Of course, this could signify more Conservative Voters were out there on Election day.

I wish I could find what Rush was talking about because 72% is a whopping figure.

Actions speak louder than words. Amendments have been passed in the past and they will be passed in the future. It is not lost until that battle is tried. An amendment trumps the court.

Saying something is a lie does not make it so. It is the actions, not the words that count.

It was time then and it is time now. Then people relied on the federal DOMA and the state DOMAs and amendments and the assurances of all that states could choose for themselves. That has been revealed to be a lie and this is the time to act.

It’s not polling data, it is the actual voting results by people who actually voted in the amendment referendums. I agree that polling data is skewed. For instance, prop. 8 passed by 52% in 2008. The polls said it would fail by a few %. But it passed by 52%, 8 years after prop. 22 passed by 61%. Nothing to do with opinion polling or exit polling, it is the tabulated ballots by people who voted.

Aye. If only the courts had overturned DOMA then, Congress probably would have been spured into action back when it would have passed. Remember as late as 2000, VERMONT of all States went GOP in the State house in protest of CIVIL UNIONS, not even full marriage. That was just 14 years ago.

It sadly has zero chance to pass or be ratified now.

Except the power of normative theories. There are no sitcoms about polygamists that I know of. Jennifer Lopez hasn’t made a romantic comedy where her best friend is a polygamist.
