I am struck with the questions....where do these guys come from? Then, he introduced his father....that is where they come from. From the unpretentious men and women, fathers and mothers across this country who inculcated their children with the pride and appreciation of the institutions and men and women who came before them. Who gave that last, full measure of devotion. And it stuck with them. It was a place in their mind to which they have returned again and again. General Washington giving all for the ideal of a free people. The unsung soldier whose name we have never known or mentioned. The innocents of 9-11 who simply went to work that morning to provide for their families, who had hell visited upon them. God, I am proud of our military men and women who stand in the gap and secure for us the freedoms that todays politicians would find no interests in defending because it is all about their next election which might increase their self-aggrandizement. Rob is the heartland. Rob is the happy warrior,....the soldier who counts it as a privilege to be an American. I salute him and his brothers in arms to whom we owe so much.
God Bless the United States of America.
He does make some good points.

I’ll never forget that day , that night , as long as I live . It was still quite early here and I was at home watching Fox News and all of the sudden they break in and Obama comes on to announce to the nation and the world . I simply couldn’t believe it ! There had been a few advance hints in the preceding show , but the BIG NEWS was a shock . A happy shock ! I have this really BIG US flag on a 9 ft oak parade pole . I broke out that puppy and headed down to the nearest town , about 20 miles away and took up a position on the busiest street corner in town ( which ain’t saying much ) and stood there and vigorously worked that flag for an hour or two . It was well after dark by then and most drivers looked at me like I was insane . But a few drove by honking and fist pumping . They knew ! After a while I packed it up and went home and turned the tv back on . Turns out that 1000’s of people , all over the country were spontaneously turning out , including many in front of the White House . In my town I was the only one . I just want to thank Mr. Rob O’Neil for giving me that reason to go wave that U.S. flag . I will never forget . It was a great day/night for me .
Now, comes the real story. The story of men of valor. The story of selflessness for love of country. And I remember what Jesus said, "Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friend." Well, thank God, Rob and the Seals, this time, did not have to lay down their lives, but they were willing to do just that. That is something Obama would never consider. It is truly a contrast of convictions. I have long considered Clinton, a party animal, with neither love nor hate for the country....just a glorified fraternity boy. But Obama hates this countries and its institutions. He may be in league with radical jihadists to destroy us. I have never felt this way about any other president in our history...perhaps misplaced priorities, but I never felt they hated this country until this president.
I hope we an find our way back home to a place of God, Family, and Country before we have gone too far.
” if we wanted to take the gloves off and really hurt people , that would not be a problem “
” but you have rules?...”
” we’re the good guys “
SEAL Ethos/Creed
In times of war or uncertainty there is a special breed of warrior ready to answer our Nations call. A common man with uncommon desire to succeed. Forged by adversity, he stands alongside Americas finest special operations forces to serve his country, the American people, and protect their way of life. I am that man.
My Trident is a symbol of honor and heritage. Bestowed upon me by the heroes that have gone before, it embodies the trust of those I have sworn to protect. By wearing the Trident I accept the responsibility of my chosen profession and way of life. It is a privilege that I must earn every day.
My loyalty to Country and Team is beyond reproach. I humbly serve as a guardian to my fellow Americans always ready to defend those who are unable to defend themselves. I do not advertise the nature of my work, nor seek recognition for my actions. I voluntarily accept the inherent hazards of my profession, placing the welfare and security of others before my own.
I serve with honor on and off the battlefield. The ability to control my emotions and my actions, regardless of circumstance, sets me apart from other men. Uncompromising integrity is my standard. My character and honor are steadfast. My word is my bond.
We expect to lead and be led. In the absence of orders I will take charge, lead my teammates and accomplish the mission. I lead by example in all situations.
I will never quit. I persevere and thrive on adversity. My Nation expects me to be physically harder and mentally stronger than my enemies. If knocked down, I will get back up, every time. I will draw on every remaining ounce of strength to protect my teammates and to accomplish our mission. I am never out of the fight.
We demand discipline. We expect innovation. The lives of my teammates and the success of our mission depend on me my technical skill, tactical proficiency, and attention to detail. My training is never complete.
We train for war and fight to win. I stand ready to bring the full spectrum of combat power to bear in order to achieve my mission and the goals established by my country. The execution of my duties will be swift and violent when required yet guided by the very principles that I serve to defend.
Brave men have fought and died building the proud tradition and feared reputation that I am bound to uphold. In the worst of conditions, the legacy of my teammates steadies my resolve and silently guides my every deed. I will not fail.
Was in tears at the end.
Cant wait til tomorrow.
I agree... It was outstanding. 27-year-old Peter Doocy did a fantastic job... kudos to him. Great production values, riveting story. Just amazing.
I think this will be huge for Peter’s career
No longer just Steve’s kid
This was so outstanding. I am glad Rob came forward with his recalculation of years of training to be a Seal and the Team 6 involvement and his in getting Osama. He is so calm in his telling of the facts of this operation. I love it that he looks like every “Joe” you might sit down next to at a lunch counter. You just never know.
I hope this true hero runs for a statewide office and then goes a lot further. His speech delivery is very good.
I think it’s awful
Meh. Show me the body.
“especially because it was written by not just some flaming liberal”
Yeah, it was written by a 9/11 troofer, which may be worse.
Now, I don’t subscribe to the conspiracy theories that he seems to have absolute certainty in, absent any evidence. However, I still don’t believe Obama’s story about the Bin Laden raid, without some evidence to back it up either. The man is a known liar, and when he says “just trust me”, that throws up a big red flag.
Also, if you have the location of possibly the biggest intelligence coup in decades, you don’t go in shooting to kill. It’s possible he might have been killed unavoidably while they were trying to capture him, I suppose, but the top priority in any such operation would be to capture him alive, and I think the SEALs could accomplish that if they wanted to. If they did, it wouldn’t serve much purpose to tell the world that he was still alive, in U.S. custody. I think I would expect them to come up with a story pretty much exactly like the one we’ve been told.
